Hotel Kalai — Hotel in Kerala

I had a nightmare of a stay in this horrible place with my family in May second week 2018.||I had booked in advance a standard deluxe room with an additional bed and they confirmed it. When i got there i found a badly maintained stinking room made worse by sprays to keep away the odor. The phone was not working and they made me wait for a long time to shift to another room. I was told later that they cant provide an additional bed and the initial offer to do so was made by mistake. The restaurant is smaller than a toilet. The rooms are badly maintained. See the dirt in the tap,shower, the curtain. You can see waste water dripping down into the lobby from above. I had to quarrel to get an additional bed. After a tiring day i laid down on it to find myself on floor as the cot broke down. See picture.I had to sleep on the floor.||The staff are rude and non caring. I understand that they are not interested in caring of guests and are interested only in running the bar just behind the hotel. may be they run the hotel to take care of drunk guys from the bar . certainly not a place for families. I could have made a scene there but my designation and culture didnt allow me to do so.||OK.This is a small town and u dont have much choices. But any other place would be better like Royal Plaza I had breakfast there, certainly better). If the staff are a little more courteous and kind the guests will feel happy. Just been here... Wanted my family to have a good time, which turned out to be an ultimate disaster The things which went wrong.

The restaurant does not have a menu. The guy who was taking the order was writing in on a newspaper. ( I thought this was a star hotel) Turns up with the wrong order, 1 soup was missing, 1 curry item missing. Finally with regret we ordered ice creams.. which were literally melted. I can't understand how these are being served here.. to justify why it melted he says he went to another room for an order...(what is wrong with these people).

Now for payment...NO CARD FACILITY AVAILBLE..

Really...Why is this a star hotel?

I am coming here after a very long time..

Now I will never come here again..

My advice, suppose you want to spend your hard earned money somehow, spend it in a local thattukada, rather...

Horrible experience. I had a very horrible experience at this hotel. I had booked two AC rooms (22-08-16). Let me list (a big one) down the issues: one of the rooms was very small the smell from the toilet was very bad to mask this smell they sprayed so much air-fresher that I could not sit in the room when I asked for extra pillows, they told me they have only one extra pillow for the whole hotel no hot water. when I demanded hot water, i was given an immersion heater toiletries and drinking water were not provided taps were broken and took twenty minutes to fill a bucket of water (in both rooms) when I questioned the manager about the poor facilities his response was rude food served at the restaurant was...
