Positive points Great value for Money The hotel & rooms are neat, tidy & well maintained The room I booked was with breakfast (Their puri & curry breakfast was yummie) +AC It is on the main road, easy to navigate the location, you can find everything nearby (like food, clothing, spices shops etc.) Easy access to transport especially autos Hospitality was good (I booked directly with them on call & not online. So they did support me in being flexible for my check in & check out times as I had kids, we couldn't be available for breakfast in the hotel as we would leave early morning & come back around 11.30 a.m.. So they would call us & deliver the breakfast in the room which is neatly packed) Car & Bike parking available (you also have underground parking) It has all the basic necessities (Towel, body wash, kettle, coffee, tea, milk powder sachets, glasses), plates & spoons will be provided to room, if asked Bedsheets were clean and tidy, furnished with cupboards, table, chair & TV The in house & roof top restaurant we didn't visit as we were out most of the time. So no comments on that

Negatives

The underground parking has steep road (it might not be problem for experienced drivers) The parking space right in front of the hotel is very limited. if you miss the place then you might as well drive underground to park (we have been lucky as we got space in front of the hotel) We tried to order Dinner at 9 p.m. to room, the order was taken but not delivered even if the time was 10 p.m. So when we called back to check they said their kitchen is closed (I usually carry edibles which last at least for 1-2 days because of kids & that quite helped us). However, they did call back after some time asking they can try to get it from outside but that was already late for kids. There are small flying bugs (they are not harmful, those we also find in our homes when you don't have enough sunlight) in the washroom (like around 4-5) because of the rainy weather as we visited in June 2024. So always ensured we kept the washroom locked after every use - They did say they would bring HIT liquid but that was not an option for me as I had a baby, it would have been better if they keep some mosquito bats

"Disappointing Experience at Hotel Mayo, Meenangadi, Wayanad

Booked this hotel for family through Goibibo, thinking it was the best in the area based on ratings. Initially, everything seemed fine upon check-in. However, our stay was marred by a major security concern.

Shockingly, BOTH rooms didn't have mechanical door locks that can be locked from inside! Only knob locks that can be opened from outside with a separate key, even if locked from inside. This raised serious suspicions about safety and privacy.

When approached, the reception staff casually mentioned that almost all rooms have the same locking system. Unacceptable for a luxury AC room!

Easy to locate, just by the side of the main road. Couple of fuel pumps nearby. Being inside the main market, lots of stores nearby.||Limited parking space which is also shared by people visiting restaurant and bar. Better to park at the lower level.||Staffs are very helpful. Checkin was smooth.||Rooms are very good - well spacious and super clean. AC, TV everything functional. Daily quota of bottle water provided along with complementary tea/coffee and toiletries. Linens were clean and sleep quality was good.||In-house restaurant provides tasty food at very reasonable rate. Breakfast is veg and options were decent - a mix of Kerala and other South Indian items along with some north Indian items. Bread, butter and jam also available along with tea.
