JJ's White House — Hotel in Kerala

We were a family of three traveling with a pet and we had a very bad experience with this property. I have booked two double bedrooms in this place, paid advance and have confirmed it with the owner in prior.

We were told that the checking time will be 5:30 pm which is unusual and we agreed only because we were traveling and just needed a neat place to stay as a break from long drive. And that is completely fine.

But when we arrived at the property, the owner was telling us that they only have one room instead of two for us. He didn't even informed us in prior and talked to us like this is expected and it's not even his fault. He offered us an additional bed in a room with an extra charge. We had no other option at that moment, and hence agreed to stay for few of hours and we did vacate early in the morning. About the room, you will find used toothbrush, a shaving set and a waste basket with complimentary waste within the bathroom. Don't even think about locking the room if you are going out, there was no lock. We didn't even wanted to ask because of the way he talked to us during checkin. I don't even want to get into more details about the cleanliness.

We were traveling across Kerala and have stayed in so many places but never had a similar experience like this before. Felt like just a money minded house owner/caretaker(I'm not even sure if he is the owner or caretaker bacause why would the owner treat his customers like this!!) who don't even care about the discomfort we felt due to the changes he made at the last moment. This is a stay that i want to forget now and I will never recommend this place...

Couple of days ago i stayed at this homestay for one night, located just 5 km from the railway station. The room was spacious enough for the amount paid, and the bathroom was clean, aligning well with their motto of "a home away from home." It was indeed a peaceful stay. They had free WiFi provided too.

However, there were several areas needing improvement. The room didn't appear to be well-cleaned; I could feel dust on the floor while walking barefoot. The bedsheets and blanket also didn't feel fresh. Additionally, instead of fresh supplies of soaps or toothpaste, there were used soaps still in the bathroom. These issues should have been addressed, especially since I booked the room a night earlier.

I chose not to complain directly as I had an exam the next day and didn't want to spend time searching for another room. It's also worth noting that there are hardly any restaurants nearby, so having a vehicle is advisable.

I hope the management takes this feedback as a suggestion for improvement. Addressing these concerns could significantly enhance the overall...

Value for money.. and the owners are an example of perfect hosts.. it's a family.. and kudos to them.. For providing a budget stay with more than budget service (well it's a real budget stay but you will not find it unworthy)..

During our stay there was a power failure. The owner came out with a brilliant strategy to give us ample light. It's nothing great, but I ticks the right boxes.. ✅️
