We were a family of 4 - 2 adults and 2 children of age 15 and 10 years. We stayed in the Premium family room with balcony (cost ₹10k) and the Private Pool room (cost ₹18k). The package covers a complimentary buffet breakfast and a 1-hour Jeep ride into the Tribal village and paddy fields. The premium family room is quite spacious and can accommodate 2 adults and a child. The bathroom walls were of semi-transparent glass walls and it was a little embarrassing for us when we were using the bathroom as the person sitting in the room could easily make out the person's actions inside the bathroom. The private pool room was on the ground floor and had all the amenities that were available in the family room except the bathtub and a balcony. It had bathrobes, hairdryer and a small pool measuring roughly 20 x 8 feet. The pool was not temperature-controlled and was too cold to get into. The pool has a sharp corner that could be dangerous if the kids are not careful. I would request the property owner to look into that and probably curve the sharp edge. The bed was so big that all 4 of us slept in the same bed. They offered a basket of fruits containing an apple, an orange, a pomegranate and 3 bananas. There is a glass wall between the room and the pool and one can watch the people swimming in the pool from the comfort of the bed. The resort has a small pool of about 4 feet in depth. The pool could be around 40 x 25 feet. It is good for 3 to 4 people to swim. There is a small cave model good for photo shoots. There was a birdcage with parakeets in it and some rabbits. Plantations and trees are everywhere which makes us feel one with nature. The children's play area has swings, slides, see-saw and a wooden plank bridge. It is covered with sand so that kids don't hurt themselves. They have a bonfire with music at night. The multi-cuisine restaurant could accommodate around 30 guests. Buffet breakfast had Indian, local, and foreign dishes along with fresh-cut fruits and juices, Kellogg's, coffee and tea. Dosa and omelet were prepared on request. The food was tasty and maintained good quality. The pond in the dining area has a few fish and frogs. They also provide an Ayurvedic spa to rejuvenate yourself. The resort has parking space for about 16 to 20 cars. For sports lovers, they have table tennis, badminton court, billiards table, foosball, dartboard, bow and arrow with target, carrom and chess. Table tennis rackets are all worn out. The Badminton court roof is not too high and often we end up hitting the roof with the shuttlecock. It has cement flooring and is slippery while playing. They provide an on-road night safari for about 3 hours and they drive to Thirunelli Maha Vishnu temple. They charged ₹5,000 for the Jeep, and it was exclusively for us. On the way, we saw an elephant and its calf on the roadside eating plants, a few bison and some deer. I felt an off-road safari into the jungle would have been adventurous, but they said it was banned by the government for the safety of the visitors. They also provide a morning off-road safari and it is ₹3,500. A day trip is ₹7,000. The staff are welcoming, kind, and polite and attend to our needs on priority. Night safari driver Pradeesh was very informative and explained to us about the tribal village, people, forest, the techniques used to alert the villagers when the animals enter the paddy field and so on. Vishnu was friendly and I liked his smiling face. He took a family photo of us in the heart-shaped seat and it was one of the best pictures I would ever ask for. I should also mention Praveen made our booking process easy. Overall, it was a good experience and wonderful memories to cherish. I think the resort would be a great experience for newly married couples as the rooms are built in such a way that it will set the mood for the couples to have a beautiful romantic stay.

Our stay at Kuruva Island Resort was nothing less than exceptional! They left no stone unturned in accommodating all our requests and making our vacation really memorable. They are truly a pet-friendly resort and have all provisions in place for an unforgettable holiday with your furry companion. We stayed there for good 4 days along with our pet and I’m sure she loved it more than us! They have something for everyone - a lot of activities like jungle safaris and hiking/trekking for guests who seek adventure, spa facilities for ones who want a relaxing getaway and lovely party arrangements in case you want to celebrate your special moments. Food was also really delicious and our Zara loved her Kuruva special pet-friendly chicken and rice dinners. We went for an amazing night safari wherein we were lucky to witness from afar a beautiful herd of elephants, family of spotted deers and a bison - absolutely in their untouched natural habitat. After Wayanad, we wanted to explore Kozhikode for which they helped us in getting reservation at their pet-friendly Vayalada Valley View Resort for amazing prices! Overall, we absolutely loved the property and the warm hospitality of Kuruva and I highly recommend them - especially to pet parents who like holidaying with their furkids.

Fulfilling stay with lots of sweet memories – 10 Stars out of 5 :)

Words cannot express the kind of experience we had in this place. One thing that distinguished Kuruva Island resort and spa from the rest of the 5-star resorts we stayed is the amazing hospitality that is on offer.

Every staff in this resort is so friendly, always with a smile and ready to help you for anything you need. They work so passionately, and make you feel that you are part of their extended family and not a guest.

We made so many friends -

Anoop – as someone rightly put it is the gem of this resort. He took us for the village and the paddy fields tour which was just mind blowing. He also shared so many of his personal experiences in the jungle. His jeep driving skills is ammaaazzzing !! :)

Vishnu – the singer and guitarist was truly awesome... he sang some beautiful Hindi, Tamil and English songs for us….

Another Vishnu – who took us for the night safari – had so much knowledge and was able to give us a glimpse of the wild animals, ensuring that we were all at a safe distance and weren’t disturbing the animal’s privacy.

Ratheesh and team in the front desk who ensured smooth check-in / check-out and the banquets team who ensured that the food was super sumptuous.

I might have missed a few names, but believe me, every single one, including the care taker of rabbits and the gardeners were just amazing people

We did Night safari, River walk, a trip to Wayanad (Banasura dam, tea estate etc) and the paddy field visit with Anoop – all of these were fantastic and 2 days just flew so fast.

I wish I had more time to spend as it is so refreshing to sit in one of the rocks with Kabini river water flowing through your legs and listening to the birds cooing...

All in all, we had a lovely, comfortable and a memorable stay at Kuruva islands Resort and Spa. I would strongly recommend anyone going to Wayanad to visit this place at least once…
