It was indeed a very unexpected , hurriedly arranged, unplanned trip to Santhanpara in order to watch the spectacular and entrancing bloom of Neelakurinji in Kallippara hills in Idukki district on 18th October, 2022. During this sojourn trip we decided to stay overnight in nearby Poopara an immeasurably beautiful, tranquil village embellished with enchanting tea/coffee plantations and solitude laden valleys. When searching for one night accommodation a friend of us referred Lotus Resorts……a heartwarming place certainly make the visitor feel at home away from home .The resort is located just half kilometers away from Poopara town, the road leading to Bodimettu Even though Lotus Resort from outside looks ordinary but inside has got very expansive, independent, well- maintained, clean, pleasant, modern looking rooms with comfortable cot and attractive furniture. The bathroom is very hygienic with ample toiletries and towels. Rooms have balcony which sufficiently enables the occupants opportunity to enjoy and absorb the picturesque, splendid beauty of outside tea gardens adorned with carefully planted silver oak trees, the mist covered valleys and fairway hills which definitely induces in any visitors mind a craving for coming back. So impressed by the very friendly, pleasant and receptive resort management Madam Christie whom we met and interacted. She indeed is an affable, cooperative, courteous personality who took extra care and attention in our comfort and make us feel at home and contented. The staff are helpful and responsive. It seems an ideal location for family to be away from the din and buzzle of life and enjoy, the charm and have peaceful time tasting the striking beauty of the area. This resort also has a conference hall, dormitory and the nearby town market facilitates anything you wish to buy. I have no hesitation to recommend this place to anybody wishing to have a comfortable, memorable stay and that too with an...
Read moreSignboards of Lotus will lead to the restaurant from even 10km from poopara. you can see plenty of it. Its a decent place to sit and have food with your family. You may not be able to find similar facility for another 20 km in and around in my opinion.
Why I put negative remarks then. basically because of expensive lunch and non co operative staff. The fish curry we thought of getting along with the meals(2 meals), but they charged Rs.150 for a small piece of useless tasteless curry. This one can be considered as a regular fish curry meals available with most of the restaurants at around Rs.100 in total. When we pointed out this matter to the staff they had a discussion and was really "'KIND'" enough to remove 1 fish curry price. we told them we didn't use both of the fish curries and took a bit of curry with a spoon to try the flavour, they simply refused and showing their arrogance to us. We told them we are already spending lots of money on the useless highly boasted food and this would be the last time we will be coming here.
Simply arrogant lady with a smile to...
Read moreI noticed this property while driving from Munnar to Kodaikanal. Stopped there for food and took a look at all the hotel rooms. This is a good choice if you really want to stay in Poppara. It is an expensive property. It is a very small hotel with very limited number of rooms. THe suite room is very good. Since there are not many hotels in that area and due to the fact that they are located along the highway, they are projecting themselves as a premum hotel.
THere are nothing really bad to say about the hotel. It is just a decent middle segment hotel in the area. I would rate it as an excellet 2-star hotel and below-average...
