Maple Ash Resort — Hotel in Kerala

Pleasant stay is a thing one would atleast expect during a vacation but sadly we dint get to experience that at Maple Ash Resort! After almost an adventurous ride( the way to the resort isn’t smooth at all, very Risky especially during the nights) we reached the hotel tired and looking forward to a hearty meal(dinner) . Inspite of specifying the meal preference during booking we were surprised to spot only two veg items on the buffet- one being a starter and the other being dal rice, as compared to a vast spread of options for the non vegetarians! On bringing it to the notice of their staff we were served with a million apologies and some veg food later! From a menu which had very few options for the vegetarians we ordered soup, masala papad, a starter, a curry, dal, 2 Indian breads and biryani ! We asked for 2 by 4 tomato soup , but were served only 2 by 3 portion of it after a long wait for 45 mins and trust me it wasn’t worth it! It was the sweetest tomato soup I ever had almost tasted like they emptied ketchup bottles in our bowls. We weren’t even served water which is the basic ask, when asked for we were given 2 glasses among 4 people, and warm water which again wasn’t our preference! The starter , gobi manchurian was mere pakodas with a weird smell. Then arrived the food . First rice and much later the curry and Indian bread . The masala papad that we had ordered came without the masala, the paneer curry had exactly 7 small cubes of paneer and a lotttt of liquid gravy(literal liquid like water) , biryani was the only edible food item. When asked the server what’s for desert he said icecream. We asked if there are any more options , after which he ghosted us and returned after a while with black forest cake on the buffet table. We called for the manager and asked for icecream( as he was available around us and the waiter had given the option of ice cream) for which we were told that they ran out of ice cream! All this while we kept requesting them to call for a higher authority so that we could bring our grievance to their notice . We were just told that the general manager would be available only the next morning! On insisting a lot we were connected to the MD -Sanuj, who at first was very understanding and polite and promised us a partial refund and regret for the inconvenience. We had requested for a refund for a day so that we could check out and move to another resort but he denied our request and just promised partial refund for the inconvenience caused. Next morning to our surprise we were told that the refund promised wouldn’t be given as we had written a negative comment on their social media( since when is giving feedback wrong?) this shows their incompetence in Not only providing good service or food but also dealing with feedback! Also we did spot dead and living flies in their so called freshly cut fruits!

I would like to give this place no star unfortunately this is the least allowed. One of the worst resorts we have ever been to. Overrated poor service and management.We booked a jacuzzi villa and ripple villa Paid 21000 for jacuzzi villa and 15000 for ripple villa.Hot water was not available in jacuzzi villa and jacuzzi was not functioning.One by one maintenance people started roaming inside our villa disturbing our privacy but ended up clueless.They have fitted a jacuzzi with touch panel but none of their staff know how to operate it.Two persons came first we found them pressing everywhere on the control panel and none of the jets were working.After some time another two came and same scenario again.According to the receptionist the actual maintenance person was not available and she apologized for the inconvenience.Nothing was done to rectify the issue.The next day morning we moved hot water in buckets from ripples villa to jacuzzi villa ourselves.Later on we were provided hot water in buckets by the room boy. Tariff what they charge is equivalent to a 5 star resort.Room itself looks shady and very basic.No safe deposit lockers,Iron & ironing board,and not even a box of tissue for 5 star tariff!!!!When requested for a hair dryer which is supposed to be provided in bathroom answer was that they need to check the availability.We had buffet dinner from their restaurant and food taste was average.Fried rice was tasteless.During dinner a person identified as GM of the property came to us and apologized for the inconvenience caused.His major concern was about the review i posted immediately after the initial incidents.Worst part was yet to come.After dinner we returned to room and found that room can not be locked from inside properly.Housekeeping person came and informed nothing can be done.Again considering the safety we moved the sofa in living room beside the main door.Location is OK but the service what you are getting is not worth for the money what you pay.Now a word to the management atleast provide two soaps in toiletries and keep a soap tray next to the wash basin.When You are charging 21000 for a room atleast provide quality toiletries in enough numbers. While checking out apology drama started again from their GM and Receptionist.He was trying to hand over a gift to us as a compensation which we returned straight away.A restaurant bill of 520Rs was not included in our final bill.Again he don't want us to pay the small amount since we had a very bad experience with them.We made them collect the amount from us and clearly told them that we don't need any favour from their side.What surprised us was the attitude of the staff who were least bothered to rectify the issues we faced.But every one from the GM to the room boy were keen to apologize rather than rectifying the problems faced.
