MOUNTAIN DEWS Hotel & Resort — Hotel in Kerala

Due to wayanad rush season and long weekend during independence day, many hotels in Kalpetta are cancelling the online booking and reselling at higher price. So i end up looking for new hotels and finally end up finding this one. ||||This is a very new property (hardly 3 months old) and not much reviews. I end up booking after talking to Hotel GM Mr. Vinod. On my first discussion only, i can realize that is is a genuine person and shows much more hospitality to guest. He made our stay very pleasant inspite of the hotel operated full for their first time during this weekend.||||The location is too good and the property is new and neatly built a/c cottages with children park, swimming pool, play area, mini water falls inside resort and lots of parking. It was built on a very step slope and one have to move up and down. The restaurant boys kept serving food items up and down pretty fast without any hesitation.||||Though it is middle of the valley on 2nd hairpin bend, the restaurants, juice junction and super market are all having all the essentials and tasty food. The cost of the food is very nominal and unbelieve to see less expensive at this kind of hotel and resorts. Room service are pretty fast. Food items are good and we endup tasting some of these like puttu, idly, dosa, ghee roast, kerala parotta , chicken chilly , chicken curry, beef, fish fry and gravy, egg curry and biriyani , different varities of tea, coffee , milk shakes, soft drinks and ice creams etc.||||Since it is new hotel i have given few suggestion. ||1) to have WIFI at all rooms rather only at reception area. ||2) Also currently the geaser is smaller and told them to increase the size. ||3) Restaurants food items list is good enough still i have requested to add continental items like corn flakes, break sandwich or toast , butter , jam and maggi noodles etc. They have informed everything is on the way to add in their list.||4) Request to sell swimming kit in super market or provide them free for adults as well. Me and my wife had stayed at this place for 2 nights. I can certainly say, this is one of the best resorts I have seen so far. Amazing location. This resort is located on one of the hair pin curves on the ghat. The resort is situated right on the highway. We got upgraded to a cottage. Mesmerizing view from the cottage balcony. They also have a small garden type in their backyard, from where you can enjoy the scenic view of the valley. It gets real awesome in the early mornings and towards late evenings. You are literally woken up by the sounds of chirping birds in early morning. They also have a swimming pool, which is again facing the valley. ||||Cottage and the entire resort environment is very clean. Even the swimming pool is well maintained. Well mannered staff and quick service. They also have a nice restaurant and also provide in-room service. ||||Pros ||1. Absolute scenic location and mesmerizing view from the resort. ||2. Cleanliness ||3. Very good staff||||Cons ||1. Language problem. Not much of their staff can understand any language other than Malyali. Only 2-3 of their staff can communicate in english. Now, this will not be a problem if you are a Malyali. ||2. Dangerous motor way. The resort has 2 levels, each connecting by a 65 degree steep roadway. Our cottage was on the last level. They have 1 parking area on each level. The parking on level 1 is quite OK. It is certainly steep, but still manageable. But the parking on level 2 is horrible. Never take your car/bike to level 2, even if the staff insist. Its a steep 80 degree road which connects level 1 and level 2. It wont be difficult to walk. But for car/bike, its very difficult. I had parked my Suzuki Baleno in level 2 parking. My car literally gave up while climbing and started dragging me in reverse direction. I was not able to pull it up with full accelerator and in 1st gear, despite of being alone in my car. So be...

First timers to wayanad indeed, but never felt like one. Mountain dew resort makes you feel like home. Located adjacent to nature's outpour, the waterfall channels it's way to the pool which gives no room for chemicals. (GOD's own country of course 😎) Sports enthusiasts if you're, they make sure the Badminton Rackets reach your doorstep before the sun pops out. Black 🐜 were moving around the room.
