Munnar Bethel Varkis — Hotel in Kerala

We stayed in this property with 10 of my family members. We selected this hotel based on the review in tripadvisor. Based on our experience this is what I have to say-||||Cons || 1. Rooms are too shabby and damp. All of them stinks|| 2. From one room water was leaking from ceiling.The manager bluffed us telling he had fixed it. After returning in evening we found the same problem|| 3. The complementary breakfast for 1st day was pathetic. Only idly and sambar. Not even chutney with that. Few breads were given. But no butter. Only jam was given.|| 4. Bathroom didn't have any tissue paper. || 5. Hot water was not available at all rooms.|| 6. Blankets too were damped and was stinking|| 7. Last but not least the price we paid was high. Even considering that we travelled during the peak season of December last week it was high. No one should pay more than 1000 - 1200 per room in this.||||Pros|| 1. Hotel staff were very friendly and tried their best to solve the problems.|| 2. The dinner was good if not great. It was freshly prepared...

We choose this hotel as per TripAdvisor rating 4.9..!!!!!||||As per our experience and staying at hotel, it seems the rating they got as paid or some other way. since the location, foood , room, quality alll seems poor and it never requires more than 3.0 at any cost...||||||Hotel location is at very top and narrow roads to the hotel. If anybody like to visit munnar means, they can choose any nearby hotels only. It is located at chinnacanal and which is very far(approx 27Km) from Munnar. Near by no any other view points or shops to purchase something. ||||My experience at hotel..||||1) Way to hotel very miserable since I used GPS to reach at hotel as per itenary||||2) Hotel it self at remote location and room provided having dirty blankets, pillows.||||3) Near by no any other restaurants, so that we are forced to order food from accommodation.||||4) Food Quality also poor and price is tooo high as star hotel.||||5) Heater not available.||||6) Just a temporary set up made as a lodge ||||7) As concluded we can say it as a home...

A good looking one when you are searching in internet.

My experience wasn't great. The rooms available aren't the same, but priced same.

The wooden rooms are only as expected in first floor. But in the ground floor it is a concrete building, except the ceiling. So if you're going to get ground floor, then the you're paying too much.

And ground floor in wooden house will have to bear the noise created in first floor as it is a wooden ceiling!!!

The rooms are given on the date of stay on first come basis.

I would advise to get the manager's contact number and call them to ensure if you can get the rooms in first floor in wooden building(the one seen in pics)

If you are ok with good rooms don't need wooden rooms, book the stone house. It's cheaper and will have higher elevation too...

And expect big delays in food delivery when occupancy is high. And no...
