We were given stay in hotel black forest munnar. It was mentioned 3 star hotel. But i cant even give single star for this hotel. It was located 15 km from munnar town. Hence there is no connectivity after 6 pm from this hotel. The room has no television facility (cno cable network, jus tv was there). Toilet basins are damaged in most of the room with stains and scratches. When we complain, they asked us to adjust and ensuring us (medicos) that this wont cause any hygiene problem 😂. They thought we are some fools came from TN and giving us rooms with worst infrastructure. Full night there was no power and they have no diesel for runninv generator. When we confront them, they asked us to adjust as it was cool outside. Food was decent but not worth. Atleast we went as friends. But never go with families to this stupid hotel.

TLDR: It was a bad experience.

Rooms: The rooms were not in good condition. Lack of proper lighting. Has a TV, but with no battries in remote. No phones in room to call reception.

Washrooms: Many taps are broken. There is a constant pungent smell. Taps are also leaky. Mirrors are not clear. Toilet pan and tiles are visibly dirty. Tiles are cracked.

Food: They don't prepare meals on demand. The name restaurant is just for namesake. Even the dinner is buffet, which is very pricy. The buffets were also not on time on 2/3 occasions.

Misc Amenities: Very poor WiFi. Has to use own mobile data eventually. Has to get the WiFi signed in individually in every phone from reception, as they didn't share password. Location of hotel is very bad with only 2 shops nearby. If you want something, you'll have a hard time getting it. Given the location you'll have to get food packed from somewhere, if you don't like...

I had a great weekend stay at Munnar Black Forest Resort with my family. The hospitality was so good and staffs were always around for help, also the facilities and services were good. The resort is located in Aluva-Munnar road and its outskirts of Munnar (14 Km away), but it’s an excellent location right in the forest. • Overall the food was good • Calm and quiet place with birds chirping sound • Rooms were well maintained and clean, spacious as well • Bigger wash room and 24 hours Hot water service • Very good view on sunrise and thick forest with fog • A waterfalls is in walkable distance (100mts) I would recommend that It’s a place value for your money and budgeted. The CAR parking area is little steep (since it’s a hill station most of the resorts are having same pattern) however the hotel staffs would help you to park the car, in-case if you would need a help.
