recently stayed at this property and had a mixed experience. While there are certainly many positives, there are also several areas where significant improvements are needed if this place wants to call itself a true resort.
Positives:
Wonderful Location: The property is situated in a beautiful location surrounded by nature, offering breathtaking views and a truly refreshing climate.
Tranquil Atmosphere: The area is calm and peaceful, making it a great place for those looking to unwind and escape the noise of the city.
Privacy: With private parking and a secluded setup, it offers a good amount of privacy.
Heritage Touch: The traditional heritage-style rooms add charm and character, giving guests a taste of local architecture and culture.
Negatives:
Not a True Resort: This is more of a homestay-style setup rather than a full-fledged resort. The facilities and services are not in line with what one would expect from a resort.
Poor Accessibility: The last 4 km stretch to the property has no proper roads—expect a rough ride and potential off-road challenges.
Room Conditions: The cleanliness and maintenance of the rooms need urgent attention. Bugs and small flying insects inside the rooms were a frequent issue.
Overpriced for What’s Offered: Despite charging more than nearby 3-star or 4-star resorts, the service and housekeeping were below standard.
Understaffed: There were only 2-3 staff members for the entire property, and they lacked professional training.
Lack of Dining Options: There is no in-house restaurant, and the nearby options are limited. A qualified chef is essential.
Dog Safety Concerns: The presence of 2–3 dogs on the property may appeal to some, but they tend to roam freely, sometimes waiting around guests for food. This can be a potential safety issue, especially for families with children.
Suggestions for Improvement:
Improve housekeeping and overall cleanliness of rooms and surrounding areas.
Hire a professional chef and establish a reliable in-house dining option.
Enhance guest experience by adding activities or leisure facilities like a pool, nature trails, or indoor games.
Improve road connectivity or at least inform guests in advance and offer assistance.
Train the staff or increase manpower to offer prompt, professional service.
Better manage the pets/dogs on the premises to ensure guest safety...
Read moreNature Castle Vattavada is a Kerala style villa located about 4 kilometers from Vattavada. It offers beautiful views and privacy, making it ideal for families and large groups of up to 10-12 people. The staff, including the owner Williams and his parents, are friendly and attentive, providing excellent service.
Guests receive a complimentary breakfast each morning, and additional meals can be purchased. The villa also has a kitchen available for an extra cost, but there's only a small grocery shop nearby, so it's best to bring enough food and supplies with you.
The road leading to the property is in poor condition, so vehicles with good ground clearance or motorcycles are recommended. It's also important to note that there are stray dogs on the property, which may be bothersome to some guests.
Overall, Nature's Castle Vattavada is a good option for those looking a peaceful and scenic getaway with fresh air and good weather. However, if you prefer readily available amenities and easy accessibility, this location might not be...
Read moreA serene and beautiful house structured in a old fashioned way, this place is really calm and quite except for some tamil songs played from afar. Situated in a really secluded place in Vattavada, the house can accommodate upto 12 people in it and it comes with three spacious bedrooms with attached bathrooms and a Kitchen. The hosts were really nice and they arranged a campfire for us and a couple of jeeps in the morning to have an off-road trip to a small waterfall. There is hit water running and the place is very neat. Only difficulty would be reaching there, even though the maps shows exact way. Try to reach there by early evening as when the night comes you might come across Bisons Elephants and for must FOG. The fog at top station, which is on the way, is frightening and blinding reducing your visibility to less than 2 meters. The road is not so helping either. But once you reach there, you will find it is really worth the ride and difficulties behind. Go as a crowd and enjoy the...
