A luxurious, feel-at-home, beautiful homestay
Hospitality was top-notch Suresh has been in contact with me since I started my journey and he had helped at every step of my way to reach the homestay. He has provided multiple travel options and suggested cheaper options as well. He's a very cool and accomodating person. Even if I had a sudden plan to visit an extra day before, he made us feel comfortable and arranged everything for me a day early. Jisha has been a great host. Both Suresh and Jisha went out of their way to cancel their trip to accommodate my early visit. Jisha even stayed up late in the night at 2 am to receive us at a short notice. She made us feel right at home, spending as much time needed and answering all our queries to make us feel comfortable. She showed us around to make us aware of our surroundings. Even after she left us alone, both Suresh and Jisha have been in contact via mobile, checking on our health and needs, helping us plan our day. She even offered to personally cook everything when I wanted to try the local fish cuisine. She personally took us to a local place where I could find the best biryani and different fish fry dishes. Suresh introduced us to Akhil who drove us around. He is a very calm and polite person, drove us around swiftly and comfortably, arriving before time everyday and would wait for as much time needed.
Property is a luxurious space. Property is spread around nearly 3000 sqft. It has 3 bedrooms out of which, one is locked for the owner's belongings and stay when required. It has a beautiful front yard and a backyard with thick cover of trees. The property is situated facing a coffee estate, which is ideal for quiet nature walks. The house also has a kitchen where Jisha (homestay owner) made us breakfast. There are all the things in the kitchen for you to prepare food on your own if you prefer to cook your own food. The homestay owner usually gets you acquainted to their property and leave the house to yourself. They would also stay and give you a very good company if you prefer that way. It can easily accommodate.
Overall, a luxurious homestay that makes you feel right at...

The host family is quite well spoken and well send you the google maps link to the premises. They will be there at the spot when you reach and will handover the house key to you as you check in. They will by default provide you with one packet of milk every day(for 4 people) so that you can manage making tea/coffee for yourself. Kitchen will be left to you with basic utensils only. You will need to help yourself by getting raw vegetables/meat and stock up for your cooking and consumption during your stay. You also have the option to place orders to nearby restaurants over a phone call as most of them wont be registered on Zomato/Swiggy. Garbage disposal wont happen on a daily basis. You will have to keep piling the garbage in the dustbins provided and at a convenient interval those might be collected . Basic house keeping facility won’t be available. You will need to cook, do the utensils, manage the trash, clean and wipe the dining table after food, do your beds( only two bedrooms will be provided to you- third one will be kept locked as that’s meant for the host’s own use).
Bedrooms will be good and airy with a window and ventilation and attached washrooms. In basic toiletries you can expect one toothpaste kept at the common wash basin area in the living space. For the two washrooms you will be provided with toilet tissue rolls and one tiny soap bar for each of the bathrooms. On request you might get more.
There is a nice attic but we could not enjoy it as we could not find the lights and the attic was more used like a balcony with blankets hung in ropes.
You can do some star gazing at night coz the environment is pollution free with a clear sky vision. But you have to stand outside and watch coz there’s no arrangement made to sit and relax outside in the evenings.
If all of this suits your needs and you feel good value for money, then go...
Read moreWe loved the stay. We stayed for only a day, but carry memories for a lifetime. The house has a quaint charm to it with Kerala architecture. The property is a bit secluded, but not very far away from the town, so you get almost everything that is required. The host has a very friendly demeanor and is ready to help you out at anytime, including providing directions and landmarks which are not seen in Google Maps. There are no steps and all 3 bedrooms are put up in the ground floor, so even elderly people can come. Food could be an issue, because the nearest restaurant is about 2kms away. But they have a few tie ups with restaurants that deliver to the homestay. Water is supplied using a filter and there are enough bottles and glasses to collect it. Because the house was properly planned and the owners were living there previously, they have put enough kitchen utensils to make sure that you can cook and consume if you don't want to order food from outside.
Overall, would rate 5/5 and would definitely...
