We visited the place with family...The travel takes about 3 hours in total from Ernakulam..After parking the car we have to move to the resort in a jeep for about 20-25 min inside the forest (off road) and there after in a small boat..resort has only four rooms and all are equally good as all has the view of the river. Though the river sounds rough you can have bath in the river at certain points which the staffs are very familiar..At times u can spot animals, we spotted baby elephants and parents on the other side...Food is fresh and tasty..Break fast and dinner were served on the banks of the river..It's indeed a great feeling..The bath in the natural pool is a great feeling..It literally rejunvante...The estate walk is great experience...Very friendly staff..The kitchen provides you with traditional kerala food and also other varieties..but with not much choices..It would be good if you can give your choices before hand..Manu, our jeep driver and Munilal staff needs great appreciation as they were with us for all our needs in side the resort..The smile of munilal while serving food was very soothing...Lots of places for kids to run around...careful about small insects as it's a forest area...It's a experience and a great feeling..Rooms are all traditional type rooms.||||Note:||||It would be better to provide an extra cot and bed..Not a bed alone..Since it is a forest area there are small insects that gets in to the bed.||||No toiletries brush and comb etc available in the rooms, but will provided on request||||The rooms need through cleaning..Spider webs were seen inside the rooms..||||The cost calculation is comparatively on the higher side considering the facilities available..May because of the...
Read more"The Quiet by the River" is definitely one of the best outdoor experience i have ever had. Rather than just a stay, I would like to call it an experience. The place is truly heavenly, right in the lap of mother nature... You can feel the raw nature around you but at the same time not once will you feel unsafe.
Right from the pick up near the restricted forest area, during the journey through forest and in the boat, you are always guided and kept at ease. If you are lucky enough you might encounter some wildlife on the way.
The stay was cozy and comfortable. Cottages are built in a way that it blends to the place without losing the royal look. You have got the basic amenities and a clean toilet and shower. The rooms are air-conditioned and well maintained.
You have an infinity pool which overlooks to the beautiful scenery ahead. Restaurant with good dining arrangement is also present.
Another main thing worth mentioning is the food they serve. Its mind blowing and makes you feel that each and every penny you paid is worth. Food is delicious and finger licking good. You get served at multiple intervals including snacks and it doesnt lack in quantity or quality. Hats off to the chef. If you are a foodie, leave the rest, food alone will make you visit this place again...
Summer would be the best time to visit if you would like to take a dip in the stream nearby or want to take a walk through the forest crossing it... Strongly recommend this place for adventure and...
Read moreThis was one of the best staycation we had in a long time. The place is gorgeous amidst the Perumbavoor forest, on the shore of Periyar. Well kept, clean and hygienic property. The rooms are spacious and have all necessary amenities, have a verandha where you can site and enjoy the sound of river and the nature. The staff is courteous, right from the time we reached there Manu welcomed us and took us to the property, the conversations we had with him was really good and we felt welcome within seconds of meeting him. Once we reached the property post the short canoe ride, we met Girish who is the manager of this property, he is very helpful, friendly and more over a very knowledgeable nature enthusiast. While we went on the sunset canoe ride he explained about the surroundings and about the few birds we saw. The food at this place is awesome, I was first reluctant to opt for Duck, but chef Mathew asked me give it a try, it would have been a huge miss if I wouldn't have tried it. The lunch on arrival was too filling with traditional Kerala style meals with Chicken,Fish and Pork all of which was delicious and well prepared. I would definitely visit this place again and have added all other CGH properties to must visit list :D Try to book directly with them than using 3rd party apps as you would get better deals, I made the mistake of booking from...
