Raj Regency — Hotel in Kerala

Held my son's baptism at this place on 15/05/2022. Primary reason to choose them was that during our previous visits to their restaurant, the food was pretty good.

We arranged stage decoration from outside (Olive, Thrissur). Catering was entrusted with Raj with hopes that they would live upto their normal levels of quality with the food. Menu was extensive with a per plate charge of Rs. 730.

On the day of the event, Raj exhibited complete incompetence with the quality levels of food and even the quality of plate/cutlery. Cutlet was soggy and felt like it was cooked in water. Dishes were sub-par. Dessert was served in the cheapest and flimsiest disposible bowl and spoon I have seen in my life. It was surprising that such shameless attempt at cost cutting would even be attempted.

The worst and most disgusting act was the manager's attempt to overcharge us claiming more plates than the headcount was used and hence we should pay for the number of plates used. People who changed plates mid meal would then be accounted as 2 meals. This was unacceptable and we got in touch with the Director to sort this. As expected, the Director agreed with our concerns and adjusted the final bill accordingly.

In short: A mediocre establishment with reputation tarnished further by unethical managers. Use only if your expectations are low.

We were visiting Hall which is in the second floor , quite good decent hall which can accommodate 100+ people

But hotel doesn't have Lift which is major drawback , people with medical conditions and elderly people were struggling to reach the top floor. Which was disastrous, my relative with leg pain , climbed that 2 floor hell steps and had sprain and her joints were shaking

Reception without Fans made us to suffer in hot humid.

Cost cut is good but not when people...

I have ordered, chicken roast and mushroom masala along with porotas, on 22/01/25 8-40 pm,the porotas which they given to me in parcel,was not good,it was so hard &old too, usually porotas seems to be very smooth &tasty, but the received porotas from Raj restaurant pazhayannur,was very very bad, because it was atleast two days old, vomitted twice after having the food from Raj,this is quite disgusting service from Raj...
