Raj Residency — Hotel in Kerala

Good for dining. I had been to the hotel on a few occasions while on the roadway to Thiruvananthapuram from Ernakulam. The hotel is situated by the National highway and is a very convenient for travelers by road. Last time I visited the hotel was on 31st May 2017 and on official trip to Thiruvananthapuram with my colleagues. We reached there by 2 Pm for lunch. There were 4 people with us. The restaurant is neat and cozy. Tables looked nicely arranged. The table service and assistance by the staff had been very good. She offered several specialties of the menu for us. The food was really good and adequate for all of us in the team. The rest room was very clean and tidy. Not really expensive in our experience as most of the menu appeared to be within the range of similar hotels in in the state. One discomfort noticed was that it was during fairy heavy rains that we traveled and reached there. The temperature was kept pretty low in the hotel that made some of us shiver uncomfortably. They had to take hot coffee to get over it. As it is difficult to adjust the hall temperature for individuals, that was not possible in the brief period we were in there. So we didn't try to get it changed. It would be nice to have the ambient temperature according to the weather. Will visit again if situations come...

Had an overnight stay at this hotel with my family. The hotel is located very conveniently just off the highway. That I think is the only good thing about this place. The room and the bed was neat. But the AC unit was old and there was no remote control available in the room. The AC kept running without any cut in or cut off achieving almost freezing temperatures by the time it was morning. The regulator for the celing fan was also not in a working condition. One of the housekeeping staff did however come and using a screw driver manipulated the regulator and set the required Speeds.But it was not for long. The tap for hot water in the bathroom was also not working and again one of the house keeping boys had to bring a bucket of hot water for my father to have his bath. The TV in the room had no remote and had to be physically switched on and off using the switch on the TV. Nothing was heard about the Wifi and nor was it available. The food in the restaurant was pretty good. However, the catch is, in order to get a cup of tea in the morning you have to wait till 7.15 AM as, the restaurant opens only at 7 AM. So, if you are looking for that early morning bed tea, forget it. Overall, a rate of Rs 2900/- per night double occupancy I feel is extremely overpriced for the Services and...

This is purely a wine and beer only lisence outlet. It is not for families nor for stay. The grand look and facilities were required to secure a 3 star hotel rating , which at that time could get a license to serve all alcoholic drinks.

With new gov policy enforced in 2015, this place can only serve beer n wine.

Recommend avoid, unless looking for a wine n beer hotel. Food is terrible, room service non existent

Never intended to be a hotel, but be a decent place for alcoholic drinks , it was build so grand as licence for operating a bar required a kerala tourism's 3 star rating.

It did well as a local drinking hole for few years, ultimately in order to conform with a age old policy to make kerala alcohol free step by step, state goverment didn't renew lisence for 3 n 4 star rated hotels to serve alcohol.

Upsetting a lot of people and new problems for police like drink partying at less attended properties, goverment decided to issue a special lisence where by they can serve beer and wine only.

Now a beer and wine hotel, it attracts very few clients as people don't even consider beer...
