Riverwoods Resort — Hotel in Kerala

I booked this place a month before my sister's wedding for cousins and their family from Bangalore and Kanyakumari for 2 days. But when they arrived it the gate was locked and when I phoned the owner Aby Cherian, he had no clue about the booking. He rushed over and unlocked the gates but it turned out they were unprepared to accommodate my guests. There was water on the floor of the rooms because room leaked, slugs in toilet and a repulsive mouldy smell. I had to apologize to my cousins who came all the way from Bangalore and Kanyakumari. Fortunately we were able to find rooms in Eden Valley, a nearby resort. But even so Aby Cherian refused to give full refund of 5000. He gave us a sob story of how he was affected by dengue and was hospitalized. Out of momentary pity i told him it was fine and to drop it but out of his own guilty conscience he refunded 2000.

went on a family weekend trip. The four cottages we reserved had clean rooms. For a small gathering, they offer two or three miniature stages.The resort has a dining area for families. There is a kid-friendly park and a public pool available. The property has such a stunning backdrop. It is a field, and there is typically a stream running through part of it. Sadly, there was no water available while we were there. I had a difficulty with the availability of hot water because we had to travel to the kitchen, which was nearby, in order to get it. I have stayed in River woods last weekend with my friends. The first impression itself was awesome. Well managed resort with 4 cottages currently. It is constructed on the bank of Pathazhamkundu dam. Cottages were well constructed and well managed. Rooms are big and very clean. The host and care taker were always ready to serve us. The biggest attraction of this place is nothing but Privacy. The pool is also kept well maintained. We enjoyed the stay. There were no water in the Dam this time. I will definitely revisit the place when the dam is filled, mostly in next monsoon....
