Horrible experience.. very bad hospitality I visited this hotel with my husband in March. When we entered we were welcomed very well with tilak and welcome drink. When we reach to our room we were so mesmerized by the view..it was great view of swimming pool covered by the lake water. But later we realized that this view is the only good thing at this place.

We had Kerala special massage here and it was horrible. Person who was doing massage was not at all trained and kid who can not make proper pressure. They were just rubbing lots of oil on body. There was only one wooden table which was used to massage all and it was not clean. After massage we took bath and bathroom was totally unhygienic and having water blockage. Totally waste of money. When we shared our experience with them they were not even felt bad about our experience.

Then we head to restaurant for dinner. We were only two persons there though was not getting served properly. Staff was totally untrained. and food was not at all good.

And the real nightmare happen then.. at night around 12 o'clock we faced water problem in bathroom and informed reception guy. Person informed us that water will come in 5 minutes. We slept and woke up in morning and still there was no water. Reception person said that there is some problem in hotel and we should call maintenance as this is not their job.. Maintenance person told that there is water problem in whole resort and no water in any room. And he gave us 20 liter water bottle to have a bath. Reception guy suggested us with a GOOD advice to "TAKE BATH IN SWIMMING POOL"... seriously man... are you seriously a 4 star resort??? There was not any responsible person available at night to handle such situation. only one person was there who was a child and helpless in this situation. He also talked with some manager king of person on call and after that call he showed us one personal villa having a personal swimming pool and suggested to take bath in that pool... UNBELIEVABLE.. After much struggle we got water problem solved at 7. We had to check out at 8.30 which we could not.

We understood that problem happens but what we were suggested was not at all acceptable. How we responded back in this situation was not acceptable.. their expert level of suggestions to take bath in pool was shocking..

Everyone was untrained and service was very bad.. one good thing was ambiance. Service was pathetic and experience was a nightmare..

Service - 0 Hospitality - 0 Food - 0 Experience - Very Horrible.

Beware of the look and go for some good place which has trained staff and proper...

The entire resort has an amazing nature ambience with the highlight being the full-scale view of the Vembanad lake . This property has sufficient number of trees giving us much shade and a cool breeze and flowering plants that enhance the beauty of resort. Famous tourist destination Kumarakom is only 20 minutes drive from resort.

From the moment we stepped in the resort till the time we left the next day, the entire staff was really courteous and highly responsive to our requirements ,especially Aneesh. Their hospitality is worth mentioning. There is a big restaurant on the premise which serves delicious food at affordable rates with the breakfast being of Indian Buffet variety.

There is a big swimming pool with views overlooking the Vembanad Lake giving the pool a kind of infinity theme. We had truly some memorable moments in the pool playing and laughing . Kids enjoyed a lot in kids pool section of the huge swimming pool. My parents also enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of the property and their food .

The World Backwaters Resort is highly recommended if you come with family or friends and will be worth for money . We will sure stay there again during our next Alleppy/Kumarakom visit. We had gone to The World Backwaters for a family reunion, as a group of around 24 people. Unfortunately, the entire experience was unpleasant and mediocre at best. Starting from our arrival, 2 rooms were not ready until 1.5 hours after the check-in time and we had to carry all our luggage inside on our own with no staff coming forward to help. The staff at the reception were vile and were rather keen on stressing on the rules than attending to us. 2 rooms that we had booked were Presidential Suites which came with private pools attached(around 20k each), but the floors of these pools were not clean. The towels provided in the washroom in these rooms were of low quality and casual thrown on the racks, in an improper manner. It was totally not worth the price.

One of the biggest problems that we had faced was at the restaurant. There was no proper communication between the reception and the restaurant. Initially we were told that it would be a buffet that night from the reception. However only upon enquiring at the reception about the buffet menu did they say that we had to order a la carte. The restaurant staff had confirmed upon asking that the ordered quantity would be enough for 24 people. But, when the dishes arrived, the portion size was very poor and one dish couldn't even be shared by two people. This is keeping in mind that the rates are exorbitant. The service was extremely poor. There was no cutlery or tissues on the table and neither was there any alongside dishes. When asked to provide a feedback, an honest review about the same was given, to which they kept jumping at us saying "you can't go like that after giving an average review" rudely. The staff were unprofessional and rude to us with an exception of security staff.

The day we had gone there, a big group of day-package people had been there and they took up the entire open space and pool until the closing time. The next morning, citing a function was going to be held, they barred us from sitting at the open spaces as well. We had also paid the price for using the amenities but at the end, could not use them properly.

Overall, the services provided by the staff were unprofessional and poor and would not recommend the...

We stayed at The World Backwaters for a night, and it was a good experience. This place is around 50km from Kochi, and it took us just over an hour to reach there. The resort is sprawled across 5 acres and it has ample parking space. We reached the place around 01:00 PM and while the check-in process was happening, went to the restaurant and had lunch. The food was nice and nice was made fresh. We had booked a "lake view cottage" which overlooked the beautiful Vembanad Lake. The day was hot, but the view in and around the resort made up for it. The resort has a total of 30 rooms across all categories (which also includes 4 pool villas). The property is well maintained with a lot of greenery. The common pool is opposite to the restaurant and is maintained well. The view of the Vembanad Lake was simply majestic. Sadly, we couldn't get a boat ride as it was a public holiday. There are also hammocks build in front of some of the lake view cottages, but be careful when you climb those as there could be red ants on those! In the evening, we are explored property on bycycles (which was available at the security). There is also a large children's play area and a badminton court. We took a lot of pictures and some of sceneries that we captured turned out to be breathtaking (I'm uploading few pictures here). For dinner, they provided a buffer meal. However we opted for alacarte. All the dishes were made to our specifications by the chef. The complimentary breakfast the next day was also good. There wasn't a lot of options, but whatever they provided didn't disappoint. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the stay and hospitality. One good things that I liked is the WiFi at the resort. I got internet speeds upto 8Mbps throughout my stay. And not even once did the connection drop (which is not usually the case with other resorts, and you end up connecting to the WiFi network every now and then). I may definitely want to visit this place again.

First impression was good. But later I was forced to change my mind. Positives first: Nice location, well groomed outdoor plants and grass, stunning pool and a good breakfast. This is a very calm and quiet place and so very drivable for families. Be aware that there is only 1 restaurant near by (near boat jetty) So incase you wish to skip the expensive resort food reach the restaurant before 8 pm for dinner. The resort offers cycling, badminton, carrot, table tennis etc. The gym is 75% non functional. We reached the resort around 1 pm and was allowed to check in 30 mins before check in time of 2. The initial thing we noticed was the presence of worms in the balcony and outer buikding walls ( this worm could cause itching). The service personal was called and was cleared from the balcony. The reception was told to get extra beds for our children. It was agreed that it would be provided before night. We the families after long chats and dinner thought about extra beds only around midnight. We thought that it may not be a good thing to disturb the employees at that time asking for beds. We checked out the next day and found that extra bed price is included in the bill!! When asked about it, the lady in the reception told me one of the strangest thing I have ever heard in hotel industry. She said "it is your responsibility to ask for extra beds". Infact it was the hotels responsibility to provide us those extra beds, since they only promised us during Check-in that extra beds would be sent to our respective rooms. Hope the management take note of these 2 negative issues. Otherwise, we all loved the resort.
