PEARS TREE SUITES — Hotel in Kodaikanal

Our recent stay at pears garden tree suite was an eye opener as to how much better it is to stay in a hotel than a homestay and how deceptive and misleading the online reviews can be! We were travelling with family after many years and decided to opt for a homestay so ourpack of 6 can be together. We checked out the reviews and availability and found pears garden reasonably good. I coordinated with the owner Mr. Mohammed who promised us comfortable accomodation, excellent home made food on prior order, breakfast etc in a house with 2 bedrooms @7500 per day. He shared pics and videos and we found it comfortable and pleasant. On arrival the picture was totally different! The sheets on the bed were not changed, they had hairs all over them, closets were dirty. We tried to reason with the employee who manages and he says they are understaffed and theres nobody to do the job. We had ordered dinne and they got us stale and water soaked parotas and dosa. We raised the issue to the owner and he sent someone out of nowhere to resolvethe issue. He cleaned thebathrooms (which were still dirty though) and atleast changed the sheets. Dat doesnt work there and they said wifi is very good but it hardly takes up. The last day we were there aw a total power shutdown and believe me their ups wasnt charged. No candles. No torch. No way to charge mobiles. Hence no light! No staff in sight to help.We groped in the dark and got ready to start back. Extremely poor sanitation, owner who is very particular about money and doesnt deliver what was promised, untrained staff. I advice u never to choose the pears garden chain unless the owner takes an initiative to...

We just came back from the kodaikannal trip.. Actually.. The owner Akbar is a nice man, he will help you with everything.. I stayed in Suit, as villa had more negative review.. And they have "Royal", which is made of wood floors for older ones.. The room is bit away.. But it doesn't matter, the travel people will get you anways.. So stay a bit away for peaceful environment.. But try to eat out.. Ordering there is waste of time, because it's costly.. Rather you can order from the owner's hotel, which has free delivery and better taste.. The room is good for family and couple.. But bagin as much as possible..

The worst part is the staff.. Bloody basterd he is.. Very rude behavior.. Late things.. But anyways.. Just the owner and the environment.....

Nice place to visit - especially for family. Clean facilities. Cottage is worth for the money. Nice contact person/Manager - helped us on everything. He serve nice humour in-between. Nice view point from cottage. Overall good experience. Contact person/Manager helped us wit spare room to get ready since we reach early, the cottage have separate room for cab drivers.

Cottage is very Far - We might feel this because of the road in place to cottage - very horrible. People still feel bad to drive on the roads if they have own vehicle. Never use google maps to reach cottage. this should be note down. Never take route via Kurinchi Aandaver Temple/ZION school. There is another route via KC homes, this cottage is next...
