Tyakshi is the last village in India at India-Pakistan border. It was belongs to Pakistan till 1971 war. Village opened to tourism since 2010. The village located above mountain and hidden from outside or National Highway. We have to take a detour and to walk 300M to reach the village. It is simply a hidden treasure at the border located near shyaok river and in himalayan mountains. The village is also historically very important. Visiting the place will definitely change your mindset about mountain village and border life. It will also question our thoughts about religion, countries, borders etc. A best place to relax... Talking about border cafe camp, the Management is very supportive and friendly like all the villagers of Tyakshi. Hospitality ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘. All of them have lot to show you and stories to tell. Food is fantastic, especially the KAWA the apricot flavoured. They even served us fresh fish from Shayok river. Prices are reasonable. Farooq bhai and Javed bhai - its not just about the place. Its also about you guys, friends... Will meet again...

One of the best stays of this Ladakh trip was Border Camp in Turtuk. Farooq's hospitality won our hearts. On the way from Diskit to Turtuk, our vehicle got punctured and there was no spare tyre in the car. We called up Farooq and he asked us to take lift to the nearest police check post as it was late evening. He sent his own vehicle to pick us up, helped our driver get the tyre fixed in the next village and ferried the driver also back to the resort. A million thanks to Farooq bhai for his amazing hospitality The resort too has very clean tents with cozy comfortable bed and clean toilets. Amazing food was served. In all, we enjoyed the stay completely. Farooq Bhai's hospitality is worth a try. You wont be disappointed

The best of amenities at the remotest of the location by the most amazing people๐Ÿ‘Œi wonder how do they manage all the bliss together at one place๐Ÿ’ญ from providing the best services - to wonderful organic food - to telling you about the place and taking you around the shyok river which is just 100 meters behind - to making you eat the best known samosa in the all around place - to the amazing hospitality ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ keep up the standards & the way all of you have been๐Ÿค—

An Unforgettable Stay in the Majestic Mountains!

I recently had the opportunity to embark on an incredible stay at the Border Cafe and Camp Turtuk located in the stunning Siachen mountains. It was an experience that left me breathless and filled with unforgettable memories. Here's why this camp deserves the highest praise:

Firstly, the location of the camp is simply awe-inspiring. Nestled amidst the towering peaks and on a bank on River Shyok, it offers a true escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The serene surroundings create a perfect backdrop for outdoor activities.

What truly sets this camp apart is the knowledge of Owner, Mr Farooq Salman. He is very passionate about sharing love for the Siachen mountains and stories around them. The camp facilities were top-notch as well. The accommodations were cozy, comfortable, and well-maintained, providing a much-needed respite after a 8 hour drive from Leh.

Additionally, the camp staff was friendly, attentive, and always ready to assist with any needs. Their warm hospitality added a personal touch to the...

We stayed at Tyakshi border view Cafe and camp, Turtuk on 14th May 2023. We were a group of 10 and will tell you that the tents are very comfortable with good, neat and clean attached baths. We reached the camp by 4pm and were treated to a refreshing khawa and some snacks. A special mention here for Mr Farooqui who is also the owner of the unit. He went out of his way to make us feel comfortable. He even took us on a small trail to the shyok River, telling us a lot about the place and the local people. The food was yummy and hot. They also had organized a bon fire to keep us warm in the cold weather. They provided hot water in buckets for the needs. The place was between two mountains and along the river - amazing views. In short it was a pleasant stay made even better by Mr Farooqui. Thank you Would recommend anyone to stay there...
