I recently stayed at Sand Dune Retreat in Nubra Hunder Valley, and it was an incredible experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm welcome in true Ladakhi tradition, with the hosts draping a white cloth (Khatak) around our shoulders. It was a lovely and personal touch that set the tone for the rest of our stay. The General Manager Ms Tsering, the staff Mr prem and Mr rohit were Amazing 🙏👌. I got an opportunity and had a great interaction with Mr Sonam who was the owner and owning the complete property. The property is spread across 1.5 acres with own farming of fruits n vegetables.

Stay: The rooms were clean, spacious, and cozy, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding sand dunes and mountains. The property itself is beautifully maintained, with vibrant flower gardens that add a splash of color to the serene landscape. There’s also a charming apple farm inside the property, which adds a rustic, homely feel and makes the retreat even more special.

Food: The food served was delicious, with a mix of local Ladakhi dishes and simple, homely meals. Everything was freshly prepared, and they catered well to vegetarian preferences too. We especially enjoyed the fresh produce from the farm, which added to the freshness and taste of the meals. Mr prem was explaining about the local food and juices that they make.

Hospitality: The hospitality at Sand Dune Retreat was outstanding. The staff was friendly, attentive, and always available to ensure that we were comfortable. They made us feel like family, offering great tips on exploring the valley and always ready with a cup of tea or a warm smile.
