Hotel Chutuk Heights — Hotel in Ladakh

Pathetic experience, criminal negligence. Checked in on 4th June 2025, the lift stopped working after we checked in, they said some technical issue. Wifi wasn't working, on request they told us that we need to recharge, will happen in 10 minutes. We called after an hour and the receptionist said that I am busy and call after some time. Couple of more minor issues but can be ignored, happen in hotel industry. Had a tough time getting the Wifi, finally they got the same recharged at 9:30 p.m. The manager apologised for the behaviour of the team and everything was sorted. ||Around 12 midnight, they switched off the generator as there was no electricity. No one was informed, we called at reception - phone was busy, called room service and no one picked up. No electricity till 5 a.m. As I went down to check and complain, I realised that the receptionist has kept the receiver down. When asked he said we switch off the generator in case there is no electricity in the night and they had no answer for the fact that no one received the call in the night.||We took this up with the receptionist while checking out and he got super aggressive. As per him it was absolutely fine for them to switch off the lights in the night. We got into an argument and we called the manager to come, he apologised as we told him that this is criminal negligence. But it felt as if it was normal to act like this and we are the once who are raising a concern which is immaterial. ||An old south Indian couple (not fluent in Hindi) also came and mentioned that they faced so many problems as there was no electricity. They couldn't argue much but looked quite distressed. ||Wasted half an hour arguing with them and left as we didn't want to ruin our remaining part of the journey. ||Pathetic attitude of the management and senior staff as there was no urgency to resolve the issue or acknowledge the mistake. ||Otherwise amazing location and decent food. But certainly not 4 star as mentioned...

The location of the hotel is also perfect for exploring the rich history and culture of Kargil. It served as an excellent base for visiting nearby attractions, and I appreciated the quiet, peaceful atmosphere after a day of adventures.

We stayed at Chhutuk Heights in Kargil for one night during our Ladakh trip, from 23rd to 24th May,2025. The biggest highlight of this hotel is definitely its location — nestled beside the Suru River and surrounded by beautiful mountains, the natural setting is truly peaceful and scenic. If you're someone who enjoys nature and quiet, this place is ideal.

The rooms were clean and spacious, and we had all the basic amenities we needed like hot water and a comfortable bed. The view from the balcony added to the charm. The staff was polite and cooperative, making our short stay smooth and hassle-free.

As for the food, it was just okay — nothing special. We felt it could have been better in terms of variety and taste.
