“Worst And Fake Camping Experience”
We planned this trip for adventure as it offered camping but it turned out to be a horrible experience. We booked it for Rs. 6000 per day. We didn't expect any luxury as it says tent, but it turn out to be a nightmare. When we arrived at the place, the manager asked us to pay Rs. 6000 per night and we must pay if we have to stay. He was uncooperative and rude. We travelled 200 km from Mumbai and were very tired so we paid for one night anyways. The tent which was available for Rs. 3000 on Amazon for purchase, was setup outside in the lawn of the property and not on a lake side as someone might expect, and it was good for two persons. There were stray dogs and cats roaming around the tents. Whole night you will hear the loud screams of stray dogs, cats and they might get inside of your tent if you don't close it zip tight. There is no power supply in the tent, no lightening source, so we faced lots of difficulty in managing the battery of our mobile phones. Poor and dirty toilet / washrooms. Overall, it was a nightmare for us in the name of camping which was fake in itself because it was set up in the lawn of the property. If you want to do camping, better take your own tent and setup in a safe area or if you just want a fake feel, setup on your house roof, it will give you a better feel. The whole trip was a nightmare. Not...
Read moreBombay Camping Company promises a serene nature retreat, but the reality is a mixed bag. While the wooden cabins are well-maintained and neat, they come at premium pricing, comparable to 5-star hotel suites. The food is homely and delicious, with the barbecue being a highlight, and the welcome snacks at tea time were a nice touch.
However, the location itself is no longer the peaceful escape it might have once been. The adjacent area is crowded with over 100 tents, and the lack of civic sense among visitors means the lakeside is littered with garbage and empty bottles—a real dampener for nature lovers.
While the staff is friendly and attentive, there were a few unexpected surprises: • Live music, which we rescheduled our visit for, was overrated. • Basic amenities like towels and toiletries are not provided—this should be clearly communicated in advance. • The place is pet-friendly, but charging ₹600 for 750g of boiled chicken for pets feels excessive. • On the plus side, they arranged a thoughtful birthday decoration in the room, which was appreciated. Noisy neighbours over which you have no control
Overall, a decent spot for a short break, but weekdays might offer a more peaceful experience. If you’re looking for true isolation, this...
Read moreI recently spent a night at BCC with family and it was an excellent experience.
The booking process was reasonably simple with Nakul, and he positively surprised us by upgrading us to a larger wooden cabin upon arrival.
The room quality (and especially the washroom) was impeccable and every bit comfortable that i could have hoped for. The bunk bed was a particularly interesting concept for the little one i was travelling with, and the space is adequate to easily accommodate anywhere between 5-6ppl in the larger cabin.
The hi-tea followed by the barbecue, dinner and breakfast (the following day) - all included in the price - were quite elaborate with us never getting a sense that we were running out of options. The preparations were tasty, while the bonfire post dinner certainly added some zing to the experience.
There is a slight walk to the bank of the river but the peace and serenity of the place is simply unmatched.
Would i come again, absolutely, although I'd have to be better prepared if planning for the weekend since this place is generally fully booked.
PS: The drive to the camping ground is quite an adventurous one through gravel and off-road while there is ample parking space in the compound so security is absolutely...
