Had been there around 8th August. We had researched a bit about this hotel and going by traveler reviews, we booked cottage rooms.||Cottage room: ||-- Very basic room. ||-- Paint coming out of walls. ||-- No shower in washrooms. ||-- Hot water available from 7AM – 10 AM. ||-- Only 1 plug to charge mobiles that too at 5 ft height without any shelf or support to place mobile during charging. In order to match that height, we had to stack our travelling bags on top of a table. ||-- There is no phone in the room for room service. There is a bell but didn’t use it.||-- At night cockroaches and insects come inside the room from the gap beneath the door||We stayed in an A/C cottage but do not need any air conditioner if visiting during monsoons since the atmosphere is anyways cold.||Property: ||-- One of the biggest properties in Amboli||-- They have a swimming pool but it wasn’t operational during monsoon.||-- Ample Parking Space||-- Polite staff||||But poorly maintained. The pathway to our room was very slippery due to Algae. I slipped twice while heading to my room on arrival. & I wasn’t alone. It happened to few neighbors as well. The staff told me that they cleaned the pathway post monsoon only since the algae will again grow. (Really?)||I was travelling with a 4 year old, so to avoid any further unpleasant surprises, I requested him to clean at least 2 of the most slippery tiles. He obliged to my request and cleaned just those 2 ||Food:||Hotel has an in-house restaurant combined with beer bar. Big menu but just a few items available. Food was below average. Infact it was very bad except for the “Dal tadka”. ||For Breakfast they only had Poha and bread butter available in...
Read moreStayed in this hotel overnight a couple of years ago. Not sure the condition is same now or improved. But back then the hotel was very poorly maintained. Floors were dusty, Beddings werent clean enough. To add to that at night there was a strage eerie feeling. I was sleeping in a separate room and my brothers family (his wife and 2 years old kid) in another room. I wokeup in the middle of night very scared as I felt like there was someone in the room. It was very scary. At the same time, my niece started crying in the other room and who was also so scared and took around an hour or so for them to stop her from crying.. Next morning we noticed that there is an open crematorium right behind the hotel (less than 100 meters from Hotels boundry wall)..||Im not sure if this was the factor or it was just us who were tired and felt so.. But I woudnt consider staying there again if the hotel is as dirty as...
Read moreFaboulous place for family and friends.....Best during monsoon. The place comes alive. Decent food and cottages are good. The prices of the cottages differ as per season. We paid 1300Rs in December 2018. The disadvantage during this period is u can't get hot water in bathroom. U will have to ask for it specially. There is no complementary breakfast. U hv to pay for everything u call for. The staff is very friendly and co-operative. The restaurant to sit and eat is small, but Cozy. Best time to visit is monsoon. It comes in Maharashtra border so Maharashtra rates apply. There is swimming pool but it's non functional. Cottage rooms are a must try as it gets very cold at night. So carry warm clothing. Best local food available in vicinity. You can visit Anand restaurant for sea food and veg food as well. Do not venture out alone at night....
