We had booked Jai farms for a stay-cation and staying in a tree house was most fascinating for myself and my family. Jai farms is nestled in the lap of nature, with greenery all around it and views of the 'Kundalika River' right in front. We arrived at Jai farms and were greeted by the most gracious and loving host Mr. Amrute. Arriving at lunch time, Mr. Amrute made sure that lunch was ready for us and little did we know that we were in for a food festival, the lunch was just an insight of all the amazing and delicious food we were to eat during our stay. The Stay: We opted for the tree house as it was a concept, we wanted to explore. The tree house is huge and has 2 big rooms + space in the middle to sit, chill and soak in the beautiful views of the great Kundalika river. The rooms are equipped with ACs and 2 huge beds. The environment was neat and clean. Things to do: The Kundalika river is walking distance to the accomodation and we decided to go swim in this amazing river, i would highly recommened doing this as the experience in it self is superb and one of a kind. For day 2, Mr. Amrute organized for us to go river rafting in Kolad; by far one of the best experiences we have had, from hustling to get there early in the morning to the rush of getting into the rapids and then lazying in the river....was absolutely faboulous (the best part about river rafting - you can end the session right at Jai Farm's river beds and casually walk your way to the accomodation from the river rafting boat) The food: I would like to take sometime in letting you know how particular Mr. Amrute is about food and how much effort and passion he puts in every dish he prepares. The food was absolutely fantastic! he has magic in his hands and everything he makes is lipsmackingly good and you will finish everything on your plate!! We ate variety of food from - Tandoori chicken, Komdi Vade, chicken fried rice to veg dishes like chana masala, baingan bharta and an assortment of rice roti, chapati and bajra! each dish better than the other! (If you are lucky, you will taste Mr.Amrute's food and fall in love with eating) Lets not forget the farms have numerous cashew, mango, banana trees! most of their food is literally made from the resources from their backyard!! All in all, Thank you to Mr. Amrute and his deligent team for hosting us! the stay and the people made our trip extremely memorable. The food - fantastic, the place - superb and the people - absolutely amazing! Things i would recommened doing: Soaking in the beauty of Jai Farms Eating Mr. Amrute's food Swimming in the river Kolad river rafting Soaking in nature and enjoying the simpler things in life is one of the biggest attraction for me. 10/10 would recommend! Mr. Amrute and team, you are doing a fantastic job! and we will...
Read moreDO NOT GO HERE!! THIS PROPERTY SHOULD BE CANCELLED - Our experience was HORRIFYING AND DISGUSTING!!!!
We booked this place through the broker Mr. Shubham for New Years weekend. The place is run by Mr. Rajiv and is gravely understaffed for the size of the property. As remote as this place is, the worst was waiting for us in the middle of this village with no cellphone service other than Jio.
As soon as we got there, we were gravely disappointed at how dirty and under maintained this place looked AT FIRST SIGHT. When we expressed our disappointment, we were threatened by the owner and asked to “behave ourselves or else…” We booked and paid for the entire “villa” but one of the rooms was randomly given to another group and there was no way for us to do anything but just accept it. They said that this group came through an ‘influential person’ and he couldn’t refuse. They also lied about the number of people that would occupy this room.
Now to some specifics: Cleanliness: Despite COVID, the rooms were far beyond basic hygiene requirements. It literally had spider webs all over the place and it seemed like this place wasn’t cleaned for almost 2 to 3 years (see pictures attached). The bathrooms were so disgusting that we avoided them as much as we could. Service: The property was severely understaffed. One of the staff members was complaining and crying about how he is treated by the owner. We had to repeatedly ask them to clean the damn floors and chairs just so we could sit on a clean surface. Food: The food was basic traditional maharashtrian style, it was good for one meal but every other meal was practically the same. Can’t complain much about the quality though, it was alright. Although, when we asked them to let us make maggi in their kitchen, they refused. The service was very very slow. Activities: We were told that there are water activities nearby but the nearest one is 14kms away. Cheated again!
In conclusion, we decided to leave the property the very next morning after we arrived, since there was no other place we could go to at the last hour. We were basically robbed of money and what could have been a fun and exciting new years...
Read moreOn Airbnb, the property is listed by an agent, and that person deceives clients with doctored & outdated photos of this poorly maintained property. This is a humble request to the owner (Rajiv) to stop misleading people with incorrectly advertised photos. The property matches only 20% of the photos on Airbnb. We stayed only 1 out of 2 days, and that too because we were too tired to go back the same day. The price we paid was exorbitant for what we received. I wish I'd known, as I would have allocated my funds to a more deserving property.
The property is not as advertised on Airbnb. The property is poorly maintained, littered with plastic debris, cigarette packets, and empty beer cans, creating an unsightly and neglected appearance. Moreover, the cottage exterior features exposed water pipes and electrical cables, creating a serious safety hazard. Our expectations were simple: a decent stay with a positive atmosphere, but the owners' negligence was evident in every detail: torn sheets, shady curtains, spiders & cobwebs clinging to the ceiling, a shoddy paint job, insufficient lighting, and stained curtains & linens. A few thoughtful touches, like proper lighting, would have transformed the space. We believe that there's a way to uphold the property's 'nature-friendly' claims and still provide a comfortable stay. Right now, it's only suitable for guests with very low expectations. Couple of silver linings were food & the caretakers (their dedication and efficiency was truly commendable). Think thrice before booking, we completed only...
