Read moreMy first trip to Kokan, specifically the charming town of Ratnagiri, was an experience that exceeded all expectations, and a significant part of that was due to the wonderful Kairi Vishranti Homestay. The owner, a genuinely kind and warm individual, went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, making us feel truly cared for. Their attentiveness and genuine hospitality created a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere from the moment we arrived. The food was a highlight, tasting just like home-cooked meals, filled with love and flavor. It was clear that fresh, local ingredients were used, and the preparation was meticulous, resulting in dishes that were both delicious and comforting. The staff, especially "kaka," played a huge role in making me feel so welcome and at ease. Their genuine smiles and warm greetings made us feel like part of the family. It truly felt like home, and honestly, I didn't want to leave! The rooms were clean and comfortable, and despite not having AC, they were surprisingly cool, even in the afternoon. The thoughtful design and the overall ambiance created a sense of peace and tranquility. We had to leave the next morning, but our hearts were still stuck there, already planning a return trip during the rainy season to experience the magic of Kokan once again. Thank you for the beautiful memories. I can't wait to...
Read moreOur stay at Kairi Homestay was truly memorable, and the highlight without a doubt was the delicious Konkan non-veg food.
The homestay itself is peaceful, surrounded by greenery, and the hosts make you feel right at home with their warm hospitality.
The food was absolutely outstanding – fresh, homely, and packed with authentic Konkan flavors:
Prawns Curry – rich, coconut-based, and perfectly spiced.
Bombay Duck Fry – crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and melts in the mouth.
Chicken Curry, Chicken Suka & Chicken Vade – the curry had that comforting homely taste with a lovely aroma, the dry suka was spicy and flavour-packed, and the soft, fluffy vade paired beautifully with the chicken rasa, making the meal feel truly authentic.
Pomfret Fry – fresh, well-marinated, and fried to perfection.
Rooms are simple, clean, and comfortable – not luxurious, but perfect for a cozy and homely stay. Combined with the food and warm welcome, the whole experience gives a true taste of Konkan culture.
