Nestled just 7km away from Hinjewadi, Kasarsai Dam is a serene place for an evening getaway. Roads to the dam are decent; however, the last 500m stretch to the entrance can be a bit rough, so brace yourself for a bumpy ride. Be prepared for nominal entry fees, with car entry priced at 50 and two-wheelers at 30. Parking facilities for both two and four-wheelers are sufficient, ensuring a hassle-free experience. Upon reaching the vicinity, the tranquility of the backwaters immediately washes over you. Boating enthusiasts will find Kasarsai Dam to be a delightful spot. The boating experience is not just enjoyable but also incredibly refreshing, especially on a warm summer evening like the one we experienced. Undoubtedly, the best time to visit Kasarsai Dam is during sunset. While the natural beauty of Kasarsai Dam is undeniable, it's hard not to notice that the upkeep of the area could be better. Nevertheless, this minor hiccup doesn't detract from the overall experience. For those planning to dine nearby, it's advisable to carry cash as UPI payment options may be available but the network can be weak in this area. This ensures you can enjoy a delicious meal without any inconvenience. In conclusion, a visit to Kasarsai Dam offers a serene retreat amidst nature's splendor.

Large waterbody amid green surroundings to visit near Hinjewadi. Between monsoon and winters, there is lot of water in the dam and greenery all around to enjoy. Last km or so, road is not so good (Not so bad either if you have a SUV) There are few shacks selling tea and snacks and a large resort like KRock with much better facilities, food and parking. Boating and camping facilities also available nearby. Lots of water fowl and some baya (Weaver bird) nests can be spotted across the dam. Update 2023 May- Local Gram Panchayat has started charging Rs 30 for 2W and Rs 50 for 4W as parking and maintenance charges though water has receded and roads have become nightmare to travel. More than a km of road approaching the dam is in tatters. On weekends, especially after 6:00pm, the road has long traffic jams and you might not even reach to parking before sun sets. Week days are quite relaxed.

Kasarsai Dam is a big surprise for Punekars, just 25 km away from main city and 12 km from Hinjewadi IT park. Dam is very serene that is surrounded with lush green beauty and hills. Here you can enjoy boating also. Speed boat and paddle boats are good option and charges are Rs.100 per person, but swimming is not allowed. Restaurants near Lake offers good quality of snacks and foods, prices are bit higher. Good ambiance, you will love the sitting arrangement in vibrant colours. There is lot of options for selfie. You can witness of memorable moments, if you are there before Sunset. Prior booking is must, if you plan for camping there. Road leads to dam is fine except last 1-2 km is rough. Restaurants provide, restrooms and good space for parking. An exciting place, indeed!!
