Leaf Exotica Alibag — Hotel in Maharashtra

It was the first day of 2022 and we decided to have a trip to Alibaug, exploring homestay options we came across this pretty looking cottage with a nursery inside. The owners are very friendly and jolly in nature, you will not feel any sort of discomfort talking to them. Clean and well maintained property, 2 bedrooms , 1 kitchen and 1 hall, spacious and facilitated enough to accommodate 10 pax in all. They do have food service to offer, but you have to inform them in advance for the same. We had our checkout day breakfast (Poha and Misal Pao) and it was pretty nice. Owner herself prepares the food, and she loves to cook and serve their guests with options of Marathi cuisine. Few pictorials of resident animals and nursery are attached with the review. 2 major beached are nearby this location, Varsoli Main beach and Alibaug Beach.

Staff is supportive, and polite. Though they lack in facilitating barbecue setup for vegetarians, as they do not have a in-house barbecue kit, also you might yourself have to struggle a bit to lit the camp fire as their staff has a practice to set the fire using plastic bags (Which we strictly are against off as it can have a very poisonous outcome).

Terrible Experience - Overpriced and Poor Service

We had an absolutely horrible experience at Leaf Exotica. The problems started even before we checked in. They asked us to confirm our food menu a night before our stay, which we found unreasonable since we hadn’t even arrived yet. When we explained we couldn’t decide that early and would have lunch outside, the owner insisted we confirm the menu by 10 AM on the day of our check-in. Trying to cooperate, we did exactly that.

However, despite all this hassle, the food we received was subpar. It was half-cooked, clearly rushed, and served around 2 PM, leaving us very disappointed. When we expressed our dissatisfaction and decided to check out early, we generously offered to let them keep 50% of the booking amount.

Instead of acknowledging our concerns, the staff was incredibly arrogant and rude, forcing us to pay the full amount for a service that was nowhere near acceptable. On top of everything, the food is ridiculously overpriced for the quality they offer.

I would never recommend this place to anyone. It’s a total waste of money, and you’re better off spending your hard-earned cash elsewhere. Avoid...

My friends and I recently stayed at Leaf Exotica, and it was a truly delightful experience! Although the rooms were a bit compact, they comfortably accommodated us with around 6 beds. The highlight of our stay was the amazing pool, deep enough to enjoy and with a separate section for kids, making it perfect for all age groups.

The food was absolutely incredible! Everything we had, especially the fresh fish, was cooked to perfection. A big shoutout to Vaishali Aunty, who ensure all our food preferences were met. She paid close attention to both quality and quantity, and her warmth made our dining experience even better. Helper Uncle was also incredibly helpful, always around to assist and keep things clean and organized.

The property itself is well-maintained and beautifully built. We had a fantastic time and made great memories. I’m definitely looking forward to visiting again this time...
