I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at Meritas Seawind, and it was nothing short of a disaster. As a family traveling with a baby under a year old, we expected accommodations that would facilitate a comfortable stay. Instead, we were met with a series of frustrations and issues that made our time there quite unbearable.
To begin with, despite informing the resort of our need for a baby-friendly setup, we were given a room with twin beds that had a significant gap between them. This caused us immense difficulty while trying to sleep as a family, and it was simply unacceptable for a place that claims to be family-friendly.
Additionally, the resort had transformed most of the lawn area into a tented setup for an upcoming event. This meant that we were unable to utilize any of the outdoor amenities, which was incredibly disappointing. The lack of access to common areas left us feeling confined and frustrated.
The lighting in our room was utterly inadequate. It was so dim that we had to rely on our flashlights to navigate the space, which is not what anyone would expect from a resort. Moreover, the air conditioning system was inefficient, leaving us uncomfortable in the heat.
To top it all off, the bathroom situation was dire. The shower barely had any water pressure, and we were surprised to find that no bucket or mug was provided for bathing our baby. This lack of basic amenities was both surprising and disappointing.
The swimming pool, which is often a highlight at resorts, was dirty and uninviting. Despite raising our concerns with the staff, nothing was done to address any of these issues during our stay. It felt like our complaints fell on deaf ears.
Overall, our experience at Meritas Seawind was far from what we had hoped for. With poor service, inadequate facilities, and a lack of responsiveness to our concerns, we cannot recommend this resort. There are plenty of other places that genuinely prioritize guest satisfaction and provide a family-friendly environment. Save yourself the trouble and...
Read moretl;dr Pros: Upscale place Best in Shrivardhan Nice spacious room Washed ironed linens Clean and Hygienic Bathroom Great service and hospitality Well mannered and Polite staff Good Food Beautiful landscape (though small) Generator backup
Cons: Slightly expensive Small garden Small swimming pool Need on-road navigation boards
We visited Shrivardhan during monsoon (17th July) and it's was raining heavily. Due to off-season almost all the hotels were empty. Our expectations were simply unsmelly room, tidy linen and clean & hygienic bathroom. Based on the reviews, we first visited Hotel Sea Wind. It was a perfect fit for our needs, but we felt it's a bit expensive, even after 20% discount offered by manager. So we decided to explore a few more places.
Shrivardhan doesn't have many options but a few of them we visited were not good. Either they have smelly rooms or not so clean bathrooms.
So we settled for Sea Wind. The manager was very polite even on revisit and he offered us a suite room at the same price. The room was nice cozy and very spacious with sofa & other furnitures. Simple and elegant interior. Well thr views where not great from windows. They have a small beautiful garden and a small swimming pool.
Our package included breakfast which he offered us ala carte. I guess no buffet as the hotel was hardly occupied due to Covid and off season. Food was good.
There were frequent power cuts in Shrivardhan and it's nice they had generator backup. Though it would be better if it starts automatically, doing it manually was taking fee mins.
Overall it's a nice place to stay while coming with friends,...

For the entire property, I would have given 4.5*, but 2 or 3 points I need to point out, due to which I have rated a little down.
The morning breakfast is very important, which was committed as American Buffet Breakfast, but was given only for one day, stating that they had a meager count of Guests. You cannot let down your customer on the Check-out day.
Inspite of having many options outside for Lunch & Dinner, we opted for an in-house Restaurant, but the Service was very very poor. We waited for 45 min after our order was placed, against some guests who came a little late but were served beforehand, only because they knew the Owner of the Resort. The owner personally was inside the kitchen to serve them. Also if you have a crunch of Staff, you should not keep your restaurant open to all walk-in customers. Your main priority should always be the in-house guests. Total unhygienic restaurant area where cats, kept on moving freely in the service area. (I have all the images, but won't post them anywhere.)
Very poor WiFi, as good as nothing. When you say in your profile that you provide the internet, it should be spot on, as some business class people need to work while traveling with their family. You cannot tell your guest to sit on the lawn to access the WiFi. I was under the impression or rather very confident that the WiFi range is only for guests using your premium rooms, but then you should have given us that option as well.
I would definitely come back, but won't opt for the restaurant.
