Nagzira Tiger Resort chorkhamara gate — Hotel in Maharashtra

My family n i am an abet lover of wildlife and love to go to national parks when ever we have time. This time we choose the little known Nagzira tiger reserve in Maharashtra.

After doing my part of research we chose "nagzira tiger resort" for a 3 nights 4 days trip. This resort or shall i say home stay is situated inside the forest near the Chorkhamara check point at an extremely remote location.

When i contacted Mr Dahikar, who is also the owner i was not sure what to expect from the stay but soon realized that not only it is a budget friendly stay but also he will take care of all activities including safaris etc.

He did guide me all the ways from the initial booking to us reaching the resort on the day of our visit.

The resort in itself is a simple bungalow type stay with 2 room in each. Though no 5 star facility (which u cant expect from such a remote jungle stay) each room is specious enough with clean bathroom and facilities like ac, a small fridge n tv with limited channels.

Though the rooms requires some repairs and updates what impressed us most is the man's hospitality. Mr. Dahikar is a simple man with a high passion for hospitality. He was available to check on every small details that we required.

As per the jungle Nagzira is a lesser know to the other know reserve in Maharashtra like Pench n Tadoba. This has resulted in less interference of ppl which shows up in more animal watching chances.

We did 5 safaris of which no 1 n 5 was the most fruitful in terms if animal sightings.

Its also important to have the right set of driver n specially guide to know and follow every sense n track of animals. We were lucky to have Mr Pyarelal ji for this 2 safaris and his skill in knowing the forest n its ways helped us to get a couple of leopard n the king tiger sighting.

The lead up to the tiger sighting when bit by bit tracking was done with the help of animal calling was an experience of its own and hair raising.

Do visit Nagzira the reserve n the resort if you wish to enjoy quality...

We had been to Tiger Resort, Chorkhamara on December end. Located in deep Jungle having serene natural beauty. Awesome environment & fresh atmosphere.||Owner Mr. Sudhakar Dahikar is person of great hospitality. He personally looks into every need of the guests. Food is really tasty but bit oily. One can enjoy every meal as per his/her desire. Njoy the bonfire at chilly winter evening in deep woods, but due to sudden rain 🌧️ things got spoiled. Nevertheless, early morning Jungle Safari by Open top Gypsy from your doorstep to the jungle is worthy. Unfortunately could not spot the bigcat but some Deers, Golden Birds, chirpy monkeys were all over. ||Overall, a warm & pleasent stay along with nice food & great hospitality was the highlight...

A wonderful property just bang opposite of the core forest.. Had a wonderful time with family for 3 nights... The service, rooms, environment is absolutely bliss... We never expected such a wonderful resort in Nagzira... After every safari hot towels were given. . . Good quality is superb with variety of dishes... A must stay in the midst of a tranquil forest...forest main Gate is just some 200mts from the Resort... Mr. Dahekar, the owner is a very nice person... He looks after every details and will enquire for little little requirements and will go out of the way to fulfill the same... A 5 star for cleanliness and environment... Very very well...
