Five of us( Narendra, Harendra ,Jaibir, Parshuram and myself Rajesh) started our journey from Mumbai by Innova via Mumbai - Pune expressway -Wakad and then to Satara city and around 25 Km from there to reach Kaas Village , near Kaas lake. Journey time was 5 hours but we enjoyed the rainy season and the beauty aruond the highways . we took one break to enjoy locall Missal Pav on the way . Next day we got up early morning and visited Vajrai Water fall which is 20 min walk from Kass Gaon and after breakfast we started for Kaas Pathar, car need to be park out of pathar. Though this year due to heavy and prolong Monsoon, flower blooming was delayed but even though we were lucky enough to witness the 70% blooming of different variety of flowers. one should carry enough water , cap/umbrella , sunglass and offcourse your best camera to capture the unbelievable miracles of nature . Hiring a local guide is advisable as they share lots of interesting information about the plateau of 1000 Hectares and flowers. We came out of pathar by 12 noon with mesmerizing memory of flower valley and soothing weather . From there , we visited Sajjan Garh forte and paid our tribute to Shree Samarth Ramdas . one should plan their visit in September to October with prior booking of gate pass for kaas pathar ,from online website . Thank you Rajesh Rai

Read moreAt a price point of Rs. 3500 approx one goes with a Ginger or IBIS or Lemontree standard. This place is far from it. If those are 6-7 on 10 against a Marriott or Sheraton say, this will be a 2 on 10. Very run down and sad. Lots of reviews mention Great Location. Well it overlooks a valley and a lake as many other hotels do in that area. They are 300 feet away from the booth that sells tickets to visit the plateau. No big deal. You have to drive 5 mins to a parking lot and park your car from where they bus you to the plateau. Another 5 mins ride. We "checked in" at 10 am, took the room in, asked for it to be cleaned once again and went to Kaas. After a tired 2 hours wife and I looked at each other and decided it was best to drive back to Pune. The thought of spending the night there when we had a better option just 150 minutes away was too tempting. We forfeited the money and made our escape. ||||We felt sorry for the housekeeper cum receptionist cum waiter when he looked hopefully at us and wanted to know "what exactly was wrong". We told him it's our fault that we have gotten used to something different and that he had done a great job. ||||But keeping emotions aside, skip this place at this...
Read moreIt's an awesome place to visit near Pune. The plateau has taken a blanket of flowers. Only a 120 kms ride from Pune....with the serene meadows around....You won't even feel like you have driven this distance ,once you reach the main point. The place has got 100/- entry fees per head on weekends and 50/- on weekdays but really worth it. It had rained for a complete week when I went to visit, and the flowers were vanished because of rains. We got to see a very less variety of flowers. Best time to visit is August end to mid September. Well, the road is too small once you move ahead of satara, and it causes traffic congestion on weekends. If you can walk for 3 kms or so, park your car at one of the hotel parkings, and start walking towards the destination. Don't forget to carry umbrellas n coats. The total area of kaas plateau is around 1-1.5 kms n you have to walk through the flowers, that's amazing. Just make sure there is enough variety of flowers when you aare...
