Disappointing & Overhyped - A Cautionary Tale for Families
Review of: Pushp Vatika Resort & Lawns, Panvel
I booked a stay at Pushp Vatika based on its #1 ranking for kids' outings, but my experience was far from pleasant. Having also visited Vaisava Resort, I can confidently say that Pushp Vatika pales in comparison.
Here’s a detailed breakdown of my disappointing experience:
The Room & Ambiance:
Noise Pollution: We stayed in a Queen Side room near the pool. The constant noise made it impossible to rest, let alone get a peaceful afternoon sleep for kids. It's not a place for relaxation if you're placed here.
Misleading Amenities: The "Jacuzzi" is a complete dummy. It doesn't start or function; it's essentially a small, circular pool with normal water. This is a blatant misrepresentation of their facilities.
Missing Activities: The promised "fire camp" was not available, with staff stating it's only for winter, which was not mentioned anywhere during booking.
Major Red Flag - Wedding Priority: During our stay, a wedding was scheduled. The entire staff was 100% dedicated to the wedding party. We felt completely neglected and were on our own for the duration. If you see a wedding planned for your dates, CANCEL YOUR BOOKING.
The Food & Kitchen - A Mixed Bag: This was the most inconsistent part.
The Good: The kitchen was excellent with simple, specific requests for my 2-year-old. Milk, dal-rice – everything was served perfectly for a child.
The Bad & Annoying:
False Menu: The menu has 50-60 items, but only a handful are available. I was denied a Falooda, Rasmalai, and most ice-cream flavors. My advice: Ask what's available BEFORE you look at the menu.
Food to Avoid: The parathas are terrible – they taste like frozen, machine-made discs with a stuffing topping. Avoid them.
Serious Safety Concern: While checking out, I witnessed another customer find an iron scouring pad fiber from a Scotch-Brite in his Upma. This is an extremely serious kitchen hygiene failure that could have led to severe internal injuries.
What's Edible? If you still find yourself here, stick to these:
Kadi Pakoda (The best dish we had)
Idli Sambar (Excellent)
Veg Paneer Lollipop (Good)
Verdict: Pushp Vatika is only for those seeking the absolute bare minimum: a basic room with a hill view (if you get the Empire Side King room) and a few simple, safe food items. It is not a resort for a comfortable, service-oriented, or activity-filled family holiday. The neglect during events, non-functional amenities, and serious kitchen hygiene issue make it a place I will never recommend or revisit.
P.S. for fellow travelers: If you are looking for a better-managed and more reliable experience in a similar area, I suggest looking at other options like Vaisava Resort, which provided a significantly...

Positive thing: Property is very nice Pool are clean Service is prompt Staff is very helpful Food is also good.
Negative things: Place is not easy to locate especially if someone is coming via Ola or Uber coz road conditions are not good , this you can't do anything so who so ever looking to visit need to take care of their transport. Rooms are not ventilated so due to that dampening smell was coming. Room size and bathroom are very small even for a couple ideally after paying ₹7000 per couple, it really pinches when such rooms are given. There was no door matt inside the room so due to that whole room was getting dirty. There was no Dj and swimming pool timing for night is less ,if possible try to increase the time till ,10.00 pm . Items in buffet for lunch and dinner is very less and please add less soda in food preparation coz even after eating in small qty everyone's stomach was bloating or it was getting stomachache. There was no stands in the room to dry the clothes which get wett after using swimming pool. Hair dryer was not there in the bathroom. Refrigerator was not there to keep cold drinks or beer. Chairs outside the room and it cafeteria was not at all comfortable. AC was not working properly 12 Smart TV was there but it was also not working. Jacuzzi was not that great the way it was mentioned in information shared on WhatsApp. As per brochure in the morning yoga session will happen but there was not such kind of session. Breakfast was also not having good taste it was just below average. Disappointment was after payment ₹7000 per couple they didn't meet the basic expectations. Milk which was served for our baby that was also stinking so we avoided to take it. So these were like experience what we had and it didn't turn well...

If you are Non vegetarian and like to consume some alcohol with your friends and family this place is not for you.
They don't keep nonveg food in buffet.. You have to inform to the staff that you are a non vegetarian then they will sarve the nonveg dish at your table by hiding from rest of crowd by saying we have kept jain food in buffet that's why we are serving non veg like this.. You have to pay Rs 350 per person if you wish to consume alcohol in resort vicinity. like we do get complementary place to sit in other resort for the same.., if you are group of 10 people.. You supposed to pay Rs 3500 unnecessary extra.

Usually in weekend we sleep late night and wake up late normally.. Here you will received call from reception at 10: 10 by asking what time will you checke out.. Again i got call at 10.20 asking for the same thing.. Again got call at 10.30.. I mean 3 calls in the morning to spoil my morning sunday sleep. Hight was when restaurant people called between that by saying we are closing the buffet This place runs as per there convinced they don't care about your relaxation and quality time.
