Overall good experience. Place - ganeshgule. 15km from ratnagiri 4.4 km from pawas. Transportation - v limited public transport. you need your own vehicle/ take 3-4 contacts of autowala
Property -We booked 2 rooms on first floor Rooms are small but cozy Air conditioned and well maintained Bathroom was clean. TV and space to park 1 car. Extra blankets bedsheets, 1 bed, pillows and clean towels provided. It's a "homestay" very far from main city so manage your expectations It's a nice little bunglow with open terrace, place to sit and relax outside. Very close to ganeshgule beach (walking 4 mins) and temple (walking 30 mins - catch a rick if u don't like hiking, walking) Owner was helpful i had to change my plan at the end moment and Manisha helped me to adjust booking dates accordingly
Food - there is a small house @ backside of bunglow you can get contact from owner.. very nice and helpful neighbours...they provide tasty homestyle food / tea / breakfast. You just need to tell them in advance
Pros - pristine beach and nature @ v close proximity, for nature enthusiasts, hikers, best place to stay with required facilities in the remote rural area like ganeshgule
Cons - cell reception is a problem, you will need to cover ground in d morning and return before 7pm it gets dark pretty early. Room service is very limited (caretaker is available only during specific time) but again it's a homestay so u need to understand that available help is from local people around the area
Advise to travellers - carry all necessary stuff like medicine, toiletries snacks and gears it's not a city area you won't find shops nearby
Advise to owners - it's a v nice property 2 things can improve experience make sure that drinking water bottle is already available when guest checks in. 2. as the cell reception is very poor caretaker timing should be fixed - communicated in advance. 1 adult /well experienced caretaker should be present at property when guest checks in
overall - we enjoyed our stay v much and will definitely plan a revisit when traveling to...

This place is an absolute nightmare! I'm convinced that the 5-star reviews are either fake or bought. The only redeeming quality is the beach, which is literally 30 steps away – but that's where the positives end.
The "owner" lady is quick to confirm bookings, but don't be fooled. The rooms are not what you expect, and the photos she sends are misleadingly taken with a wide-angle lens to hide the cramped spaces.
The owners aunt who serves food is a joke. The quantity is pathetic, and the quality is even worse. We were charged exorbitantly for a Surmai Thali, and when we questioned the price, she had the audacity to insult my wife and me.
But that was just the beginning. My mom and wife received electric shocks in one of the bathrooms – a serious safety hazard that the owners denied, refusing to believe us.
The list of issues goes on:
Only two towels for six people, regardless of the number of guests. No water bottles or soap provided. Owners were not approchable and unreachable. Had to call the "helper" (read: servant) for every tiny thing. Had to shout for assistance.
When I politely complained about these issues, the lady owner asked us to vacate the premises immediately. We were forced to check out at 7:30 PM, and they deducted 50% of our payment. She had promised a full refund, but it's clear she has no intention of honoring that.
The owners are rude, unprofessional, and clueless about running a business. Ganesh Gule is a disaster, and I'd advise anyone with a shred of sense to steer clear of this dump.
Heed my warning: Read the reviews carefully, and don't fall for the trap. This place is a recipe...
Read moreWe had originally booked the place for 3 nights but had to leave after the first night itself. Let me start out by saying that the owner is one of the best people I have spoken to from this industry. She answered all my questions, sent me pictures and gave me a really good deal. Having said that, the place itself was a little disappointing. We arrived exactly at the time we had mentioned in our conversation with the owner (7.30 pm). But the caretaker was not there, nor was the key left where the owner said it would be. There was no network, so our phones did not work to contact the owner or the caretaker. The lady who served the food said she did not have the caretakers number. We had to wait for over 20 mins for the caretaker to come with the keys to our room. The room itself was smaller than expected. it barely had any space to move around after we put an extra mattress for my son. The bathroom was very clean, well maintained and with water heater. no toiletries were provided though - not even a soap. The extra mattress was inside the cupboard which wad very messy to say the least. There was sand everywhere inside the cupboard, mattresses, bedsheets were kept very haphazardly along with bathroom cleaning supplies. We had to dust the mattress and use our own bed sheets. The food was okay - not the best that I had tasted, but except for the fact that we had to go down to order whatever we needed, no complaints here. We felt that the owner is a really kind-hearted lady with a lot of enthusiasm, but it is not reflected in the caretaker's attitude. The problems that we saw were more of a housekeeping issue and I hope will be resolved on...
