Riverside County Resort Amba Ghat — Hotel in Maharashtra

Amba ghat is a serene and natural beauty located close to Kolhapur and around 5.5 hours drive away from Pune. During the end of September when it isn't quite the season of monsoon and it's too hot and humid for beaches we zeroed in on this property and what a wise decision it absolutely turned out.

I won't be lying if I said that I wasn't disturbed about the earlier review that talks about Staff entering a customer's room and stealing cash ! Though I wasn't quite there but having spoken to the majority of staff all around it just doesn't seem like possible and if there was any shadow of truth in that an official complaint should have been launched in hindsight if not in the first instance. Anyway from this point onwards I'll try to focus on my experience but I would say my experience with their staff was exemplary.

As we reached on a weekday, there wasn't a lot of crowd and we were immediately shown into our Family suite that comes with a drawing room along with a sofa cum bed and a large bedroom consisting of twin beds (no King beds available in this room variant) and a washroom that has a separate bathing area inside (no bath tubs). The fixtures and ambience of the suite is immaculate and it seems like a premium property. Each room has an unobstructed view of the tranquil river of sorts that is only 4-5 feet deep making it an ideal and safe choice for kayaking for all age groups.

We had booked a 2 day package from MakeMyTrip that included breakfast and whatever we ate in breakfast or otherwise was simply fabulous. The pricing of food is on par with Club Mahindra properties and it's a great idea to book the all meals package that works out to be way cheaper with the great food making it a real steal !

It is difficult to decide for me which is the best part about this property? Is it the absolutely fabulous location, courteous and simple staff, great food by Chef Vijay Pal, the activities like Zip Lining, Kayaking, Burma Bridge, Cycling and other games like badminton, foosball, volleyball court, playing cricket with their staff etc !!

The answer is all these things together makes it a fantastic package with almost everyone out there trying to take your experience to the next level.

This is the only place where we ended up extending our stay by a day over a delicious breakfast becasue we sincerely felt that staying here for couple of nights wasn't enough and we went back to our room after loading all of our luggage & stuff into our vehicle in the first place. It was their sincere hospitality, value for money stay and fabulously delicious food

Some of the best dishes we recommend are the Fish Fry, Chicken Masala gravy, Mutton Biryani, Masala omlette & Chicken sandwich in breakfast.

Among the Staff their head of staff Mr.Johnson is gem of a person who gave us the best treatment possible. Mr. Shrikant Bodade gave us a fantastic all meals package for the last day we extended and we will be grateful for that ! Among other staff Mr. Denjil took great care of us and even went with us to the nearby waterfall to give company as it was secluded area with not a lot of tourists around :) Mrs. Kym the supervisor of housekeeping was fantastic too and assisted us with great zeal and excitement.

Regarding the onsite activities, my Daughter enjoyed a number of zip lining trips and walking back across the Burma Bridge with complete safety of harness. Kayaking was another activity we all did and enjoyed to the fullest as a family and the staff were always there to assist us and it came with complete safety of top quality life jackets.

The only odd miss we could notice was the absence of a swimming pool which too was clarified by Mr.Johnson that the process is already in progress and a brand new pool should be up and running in the coming months.

In the end I would like to sum up that we had a grand time and we enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property with beautiful people at heart to the fullest and we are going to be back at the property with full enthusiasm pretty soon,...

We booked the resort thru Club Mahindra approx. 3 months back. A week before the actual checkin, we were informed that there is a Wedding happening in the resort.. and we may have to opt-in for Room Service instead of the Restaurant.. and there could be some loudspeaker use around.. With some concerns in mind, we went expecting a not-so-good holiday that we had planned in advance for some quiet time for ourselves. Without an overstatement, this is one of the BEST resort we ever stayed at. The area of the property is HUGE with lot of greenery. and it runs next to a stream of clear water.. There are enough options for kids to be occupied and there is enough quietness for anyone looking for moments of solitude. And the wedding that happened in the resort was happening without any major impact to the stay. In fact, we thoroughly enjoyed watching the proceedings from the sidelines.. The 1 BR rooms were massive with a large balcony overlooking the riverside.. Balconies of all 1 BR rooms are designed to overlook the river.. There are some tents and pool-villas as well in the property.. The Room Service and the quality of food was very good and the prices were reasonable. Moreover, Club Mahindra members getting a discount was a delightful discovery. Rahul from the reception team gave us some good tips of checking out the neighbourhood. We drove up to Pawankhind (a delightful drive 19 kms away) and enjoyed some delicious local food (Mutton Thali with Vade) at a nearby (small) eating joint (The Great Maratha) near the resort. Overall, while the location of this resort is very convenient (bang on the Ratnagiri Highway), and there are good enough places nearby to visit.. we want to come back for more of the quiet and peaceful surroundings and do some me-time reading, playing music, long walk inside the property with good food and good...

Took our family for a weekend trip to Riverside County Amba Ghat and have to say it made for a fantastic family holiday. This is the third time in the last 12 months that I have gone to stay at this property and it’s worth every penny. The resort has a tremendously spectacular location and view of nature with the river right in front of the rooms we stayed in. Fantastic helpful and friendly staff from front office to food and beverage to housekeeping. The rooms were plush, comfy and had huge beds. Shower water pressure and water heating was aces. In non rainy season, there are lots of activities such as boating, zip lining above the river and a safari ride which takes you to a nearby forest land (not many animals to see but the jeep’s overhead canopy seating was an experience that everyone should try at least once). The food has been good on every trip here for both veg and non-veg (great biryanis and Pasta) and the restaurant staff are very eager to help and that too always with a smile. The absolute best part about the resort is that it is extremely pet friendly and I’ve taken my fur baby here on one of the trips and she had a blast too. If you’re looking for some down time in nature, mixed with a little bit of adventure, this is the spot. You will not regret it!!!||One thing to note is most other networks other than Jio don’t work well here and the resort has WiFi only at the reception so it’s a great way to cut off from the world for a couple of days....
