Like every guest, we were delighted with the welcome and rustic designs of the resort. Samir, the manager showed us our room and we liked the look of it. But the chain of events that followed was a nightmare for me and my husband and our friends who traveled with us.||1. After our return from our afternoon safari our bathroom area was covered with rat poop and the soap was chewed as well. The outdoor shower door was broken and it wouldn't shut. When we called Samir, he apologized and tried to tape the door to seal it, but it didn't close the door completely.||2. After washing up we realized the AC in the room wasn't working and we were drenched in sweat. We sat in our friend's room while the AC work was going on and Samir assured us till would be up and running before dinner. And this peak summer of 42-45 degrees in Nagpur. ||3. The AC was partially fixed and we stayed the night in the same room with part fan and AC, a sleepless night with that heat. The hotel was full so they couldn't arrange another room||4. We proceeded with our morning safari and Samir promised us that he will have the AC fixed. We returned from the safari only to find out room swamping with bugs, lizards, and centipedes of all shapes and sizes. The gap between the doors is how they got in. We immediately called Samir and he sent the housekeeping to have the rooms cleaned. While cleaning under the bed they found 2 empty water bottles which were left behind by the previous owner aka the room wasn't cleaned properly. ||5. Like I said - the design only looks good but zero on it being practical and comfortable. The AC was also covered with a wooden frame? I mean why? What's the purpose. The designer should have installed mosquito nets to keep the insects and lizards in their habitat and out of guest rooms and maybe used a better quality wooden frame covering the door inch-to-inch with no gaps for living creatures to slide in and out. Huge difference between eco-friendly and practical living ||6 And by the way our friends found bed bugs under their mattress. Thankfully their AC was functioning better after they complained too||7. The AC in our room was not functioning at all and for the night they gave us a water cooler from which water was falling on the floor due to some leak and as a result, we had mini flooding on the floor and had to rush to move our bags. Samir then arranged for another room at a nearby resort, and by then it was already 1am. The other hotel room was a bare minimum facility with a toilet stench but we had no choice and make do the night. ||8. We returned to Sylvan in the morning after our safari to check out and politely asked for a full refund for our stay. Samir said he'll talk to the owners and let us know and requested us to not give a negative rating. When we followed up on the refund post our return, he said that since they put us up in another hotel for a night, we weren't entitled to a refund. Had we braved the heat of 43 degrees at the night without sleep we would have got the refund||Our stay left us sleepless, tired, angry, hurt, and thoroughly disappointed. And to top it all we were cheated out of a...

Read moreProperty is pretty good! But maintenance is to question... Our room came with an outdoor shower which sadly wasn't functional! Overall an old world charm is there but again we faced issues with our bathroom as water was coming into our room... Food is okay! Not many options...taste is okay! Nothing worth mentioning! Most of the staff present at the property were sweet but we also had an incident where one of the kitchen staff misbehaved with my friend, very rude to talk to... I had to step in & give him a piece of my mind after which he calmed down a bit but nevertheless ended up screwing our morning breakfast anyway! Booked looking at all the positive reviews... maybe it just wasn't meant for us!
Hello sir, I cannot talk about the experience of others, I've posted about my personal experience & my friends who visited Sylvan woods! We had 2 rooms booked but 1 of the rooms had the aforementioned issues... Also regarding the kitchen staff, it was one guy who came upto us to ask about our breakfast preferences for the next morning safari & he was rude from the start to my friend, I was sitting closeby feeding my lil one but had to interfere because he was talking downright absurd to my friend who was nothing but calm... It was infact because of me that the spat didn't take an ugly turn... I calmed both parties down. Be grateful if not kind. Also after reading your response I can totally understand the behaviour of your staff! It's good to justice yourself but it's better to understand the client's needs too! I could have given you a much worse review but I tried to be polite... should have let my friends post a review instead, then you might have understood the gravity of our concern better! What is truly unacceptable is your...
