This is a cozy little home in a quaint hamlet on the forest front, with mud coated walls and floor. The earthy- green vibe is enough for any nature lover to give no second thought in booking it. But this is just the beginning of the goodness since the host Lakhan has taken hospitality to the next level. The fussiest guest won't find a reason to complain since they become a family member the moment they check in. Lakhan's care made me forget that there is no AC in the top floor room during peak summers in the sultry tropical place. The air cooler did the job though and in my book, AC doesn't go along with earthen anyways. But if you really cannot live without AC, this place is not for you in summers. Lakhan is a safari guide, an ornithologist, a health freak and organic food enthusiast who serves you all organic - right from the tulsi tea to sabzi, achar and parathas. He knows a thing about forest herbs and sprinkles your food with it. He even picks and drops you to the main road on his bike if he is around. You will never want to leave the amazing place and Lakshan's sweet family. I overstayed, so will you.

We stayed there for 1 night on 10Nov2023. We booked 2 rooms for 4 people. If you want to feel the vibe of Bundelkhand , a home stay is highly recommended. Our host family were warmly hospitable and very helpful. We felt as if we visited our relatives at Panna. We enjoyed typical Bundelkandi breakfast, lunch and dinner cooked on chulha and served in their family drawing room. Our host Sh.Lakhan ji was himself a guide and a birding expert. The rooms were neat and clean with spacious washrooms and amenities like geyser etc. Fresh bedsheets , towels were provided in well decorated rooms. They have two guest-rooms on the upper floor with a spacious verandha overlooking the hills of Panna national park. Road access to the home-stay, vehicle-parking and power-cuts can be a problem. Overall it was a memorable visit and highly recommended for tourists looking for a unique rural and wildlife experience.

We had one of the Most Intriguing Holidays On Our recent visit to Madla - Panna. We stayed at the SPARROW HOME STAY with Mr. Lakhan & Parwatiji along with Their 2 Kids - Arushi & Ayush that so very Graciously, & Humbly welcomed us into their lovely Quaint home right from the first TIKKA that they put on our foreheads to the Last Goodby Hug are Moments to remember in time. Not only did we experience FIRST HAND village life but also had the unique opportunity to be a part of their Divali celebrations. Lakhanji & Parvatiji have been extremely Superb Hosts in making our stay as comfortable as possible. Lakhanji also is a Nature Guide in the adjoining Panna Tiger Safari Park & His Knowledge of the flora & Fauna Is Unparalleled, He has such Enthusiasm & Pasion for the same when he explains in detail on the subject. All in All a Lovely Memorable Holiday ..One that we really did not want to End..

Best places to stay in Panna national park! Staid for 3 nights which felt like a home away from home and the family was like our second family. They were extremely welcoming and went above and beyond to help us. Lakhan is a very knowledgeable national park guide and he helped us arrange safaris at government price on the day. We did 3 days of safaris and we’re lucky to see tiger, sloth bear and leopard! Lakhan organised transport to and from the gate which was very helpful. Parvati’s cooking was exceptional and she even let us watch her cook so we can learn some Indian dishes. Their daughter Arushi is very sweet and a joy to spend time with! The village the home stay is in is adorable and everyone is very welcoming

Lakhan also helped us look into public transport to the next destination and arrange taxi at great value.

This is a sweet, homely and relaxing vibe about this home stay. The room was perfect, comfortable bed, extremely clean, quiet, spacious and very well utilated. The place is in a great location and has a beautiful roof terrace. Everything was perfect! We’ll surely return! Thank you...

If you are looking for delectable food and a warm, welcoming and affordable accommodation, Sparrow Homestay is the perfect place for you! Lakahanji and Parvatiji and their whole family are wonderful hosts. I stayed in their place for nearly a month on a research trip and I couldn’t have asked for a better deal. The rooms are spacious, airy and clean with excellent amenities. The food is organic and they serve several local dishes of Bundelkhand. If you are looking to do a safari of Panna Tiger Reserve, then Lakhanji is one of the most brilliant knowledgeable guides to take you around the forest. In every conversation with him I learned a great deal about wildlife. The Homestay is really close to the Madla gate of the tiger reserve and therefore makes access easy. Most importantly, the hosts are very helpful people and will take good care of you in a new location. They even helped me with my pickup and drop from Khajuraho. I highly recommend staying at Sparrow Homestay for delicious food, comfortable stay and warm company. My time there...
