Riverside Resort — Hotel in Meghalaya

Had there been 'No star rating' I would've given them that.

Hospitality: 1/5...we had the room to ourselves for the whole day BUT even after arriving at freezing cold timings at night 9:30..we were kept waited to get rooms to relax reason being the owners 'friends' were given our room to chill out in and we were asked to wait in the lobby which was crazy cold.

Stay: 2/5...Very average room size, not bottled water provided OR tea satches offered in the room.

Staff: Minus 10/5...Very weird including the owner. Even after delaying on room provisioning we were told laughingly 'my friends will leave in something, I can't ask them to leave just like that...so I'm trying to extend the time'. We were shocked the owner finds this behavior chalta hai type just coz we were 2 female travelers. The other staff just kept mocking us for the night and we could literally hear them repeating our line and laughing in the corner door. I would've taken an action for such behavior had this happening within the city at decent hours.

Food: Minus 10/5...Imagine waking up the next day after all this drama from the night and then being told will 'Maggi do fine for breakfast?' that's when I realized these guys are just taking us for a ride.

Summary: Don't go by the +ve comments as they can be put out by the owners friends. Check the reason by all -ve comments as its always the dishearten consumers who will take an effort to write things out in detail vs. just a one line mentioning.

Only positive point for this hotel is the location as it's between the two hills one would want to visit...nothing else apart from that.

Rooms - Very Good Rooms. Every room with different design and color combination, also rooms with different settings according to the taste of the Guest and their requirements. Nice clean bathrooms with hot water.

Service - We had a very beautiful time spending in the Riverside Resort. We had booked the full Resort for 4 days and some stayed 7 days. Well to tell you the fact my daughter and would be son in law ventured this Resort. We had our daughters Roce Ceremony and being My wife and my birthday a sudden surprise party was organized. I have no words to say or explain of the staffs of Riverside Resort. They were extremely very good, resourceful, honest, simply quiet workers fulfilling every need of ours in the shortest time. They could arrange the Kitchen for our Chefs, Helpers for the Chefs, the groceries, the chair tables for sudden birthday party, the other hotel rooms for the immediate extra rooms, heart melting gift given to our daughter by the staffs. Their service during the breakfast, lunch dinner were excellent, very humble. Very helpful to our old parents with wheel chair shifting upstairs and downstairs. They were the most excellent Staffs I met. Super.

Location - Wow, just that I can say, its on the main road going to Cherrapunji by the riverside which makes it more relaxing and beautiful. very technically built Resort where you can have your private parties. Worst resort in Meghalaya..i advice everyone to please do not opt for this resort for your stay..the owners are not good people..i’ve book part of the resort for my daughter’s birthday one month beforehand n call him everytime to fix the prize for the booking but he wont confirm..he kept telling me to wait everytime n on the day of my daughter’s birthday we went there for the preparations..but instead they mock us by saying we were just kids..n they charge us Rs 35,000 instead for booking only the small bar below the resort and that also to finish the function by 8.00 O clock..so they can give food to other guest who stay in their resort..i suggest everyone please dont stay in this resort i can tell that the owners just want money thats all..the woman who owns the place is very stubborn n not friendly at all n the way she dress she doesnt look like the owner at all n to mock us she doesnt have any right at all..same to her husband the way he treat us is not right at all..if he’s not willing to give us the place there then just say it dont make the customers wait even if the price is high we can take other options..very stupid and low life people the...
