Management is very poor. Sorry to say this but we were not at all happy. We visited this February and booked through booking. Com. Saw that this is the only good hotel in Rangat. We were going to Ross and Smith next day and thought that it would be a good idea to spend the night at Rangat. Go to Diglipur and Ross and Smith and then come back and spend another night before returning back to Port blair. The hotel seemed all right at first. But the manager seemed to be clueless about all local information. Never heard of olive ridley turtle. Also thought that it was impossible to go to Ross and Smith and get back in a day. However we had our vehicle from Port Blair for the trip and nicely made it. They were supposed to provide us with packed breakfast which they gave. But we found that there was only a pack of bread, jam sachet and only 2 tetra pack of juice for us 8 persons which is absurd. Next morning there was no water in bathrooms. After a lot of shouting from us and other boarders pump was on. They seemed to be grossly understaffed. And the 2-3 staffs available had a habit of sleeping late. Another point is about the menu. No fish, almost no vegetables. Only chicken, paneer and dal. We have eaten a lot of nice seafood and fresh fish every where in Andaman, in havelock, Neil, and even in Diglipur next day, but not in this place. I learned that nearby hotels serve nice fish and other things also. But we were tired and ate whatever we got. Anyway I suggest to avoid this place if possible. I don't know about the quality of other staying options nearby, but if you are not too keen about the quality of room I think it best to stay in other places. A hotel in tourist place should supply local food, fish and vegetables which are abundant all around. More over, they should know and be interested in local attractions at least which they were sadly lacking. At the best they seemed a pack of disinterested horses forcibly joined in cart and moving only...
Read moreThe worst hotel I have ever seen in my life. I was there from 02nd April 2021 Friday to 03rd April 2021 . Let me tell you my experience in a nutshell :- We were coming from Diglipur Saddle Peak and travelled around 12 hrs to reach this hotel. ( We spent 4-5 hrs in Ross & Smith Island ) . We reached there @9 PM . We were given a 10 ft * 8 ft room ( Room No 502 ) which in the same floor in which the reception is . Each and every thing except the bed was covered with a layer of dirt . See pics . The TV , the intercom telephone , the ceiling fan , tea table everything. One towel was provided which was ragged & dirty. The TV was not equipped with a set top box & hence of no use . The washroom was full of spittle of chewed betel leafs . Moreover , no light is there in the washroom. Dinner & breakfast was included in our package. But the manager informed that the restaurant of the hotel is non-operational for more than 1 month and hence no food can be delivered. They managed dinner from an outside hotel which was horrible and impossible to eat . If you go to Rangat, Never ever think of staying in this hotel . It's better to stay in your car than to stay in this hotel. I am attaching all the pics as a proof of my review. You can check...
Read moreI have stayed with 42 pax (all couples). The staff don't know the meaning for hospitality. For 2 days stay, they have kept only one towel for 2 persons. On the second day, when asked for a towel, the answer was NO. No one speak english. Reception and Restaurant phones will ring but won't attend the calls. No Lift. Though the package is with breakfast and dinner, nothing will be served except only Idli for breakfast (only one item) and for dinner rice, dhal and one subjee. Only half a cup tea will be given for breakfast. Staff in general are very rude. We used to give tips liberally but here nothing was given due to their rudeness. Most of our group members used a small hotel behind this hotel for their 2 days breakfast. The bathroom size is 3' × 10'...
