I was wondering for South Indian food in morning near ramdaspeth area... suddenly my friend caught the sight of tattwan-south Indian & Indian cuisine..it was to our surprise that there is a restaurant in a not so restaurant looking place 😂...so we decided to give it a try... We were their around 11 am....neat and clean ...hardly group of 3 customer was there...we were mentally attached to South Indian food for this moment, so without exploring the menu( which gives you so much options that you get confused for what to eat) We looked in dosas...we ordered • Ghee roasted masala dosa • Mysore masala dosa
I am more of a street food person 😅 so I really doubt the taste and the feeling the food offers...but to my surprise this time I was wrong.. The dosas were so good, like for the first few times I could proudly say the restaurant stand upto its name for South Indian food
ghee roasted masala dosa- it was so good, like you could literally taste ghee in each and every piece of bite you take of the dosa, and ghee could also of such good taste like it was made in home by my mom 🥰🤩.. The uniformity with which ghee was exposed on dosa was really great, I would literally tell people to give a try, about how dosas are made and how ghee could literally take the taste of dosa to great heights.
Mysore masala dosa - the red thing they use ( i am not sure what it was, but I think it was a paste of beat fruit) in dosa for sure lifts the taste aroma and everything about the Mysore masala dosa...it is so uniform on dosa suface that with sambhar it is a food you would be delighted to eat.
TATTWAN - SOUTH INDIAN AND INDIAN CUISINES
is surely a restaurant you can rely on for taste quality and the hospitality the staff gives you there... every one should give a try atleast for a dosa and i am sure you will be happy...
One more thing 😂 ask for extra sambhar, they bring it in a "chirag" ( in which Genie is trapped, Aladdin) which was very intriguing for me 😂...
Nice restaurant...
Read moreI frequently fly into Nagpur for my onward journey by train to the nearby towns on my official work. Depending upon my flight-train-flight connections, I spend a night in Nagpur on my outward and inward journeys. I stay in different hotels and few times stayed in 5 star hotels close to the airport when I was on an official trip to Nagpur. ||||I was impressed with Hotel President because shortly after Make my Trip confirmed my reservation with the hotel, they sent me mail to assuring me to comply with the requests I place in my reservation! Later they provided their cell number to contact them about their complimentary pickup from the station. Since I did not respond, they got their driver connected to me who was in constant touch with me and was present at the station to receive me and drove me to the hotel! Kudos to the staff for taking good care of me in this regard. ||||At the time of check-in, I requested the receptionist for a two hour extension of my stay to suit my flight timings. But he curtly said no and extended my stay by only half hour. However the next morning I again called the receptionist and he allowed me to keep the room till 1:00 PM. ||||I stayed in room 207 that is spacious with good wifi, soft bed and a clean bathroom. The bathroom main door and the shower cubicle sliding door are closely adjacent to each other. The shower is fixed just behind the room and failing to shut any of these doors can flood the entire room! Towel rack is fixed outside the shower cubicle at the far end of the other side of the bathroom! ||||The buffet breakfast was good though only few items were served. This is strictly a vegetarian hotel. The check out was smooth and ride to the airport was promptly arranged. The hotel is located in a very crowded market and it is a Hercules task for the driver to get the vehicle across to the hotel. It is not pleasant to walk around in the evenings due to overcrowding neighborhood. Not sure if I would return back...

I have been to several Royal Orchid properties all over India, believe me, this doesn't fall in the same category or standard on which the other property operate. The rooms are long, shrunk gallery like structures with such a compact bathroom that if you are a healthy person, forget that you'll be able to enter the toilet slider door. The only good thing about the room is the adjoining balcony which you can ask the staff to open for you, but it also comes with challenges, there are lot of trees planted on the edge of the balcony which invites lots of mosquitoes there and eventually in your room if you are not vigilant enough to close your balcony gate quickly. The other challenge is, once the staff has opened the door for you, you just can't close it again and since the balconies have a connected plantation bed, anyone from the adjoining room can come to your balcony with some efforts.
Food: In room dining is so costly, you are better off going for the buffet. Got a 30% discount as there was not a lot of rush on that day. Rs. 1000/- incl GST reduced to Rs. 700/-. The taste of at least 50% of the cuisines were blunt in taste. Talking about the breakfast, the spread was nice but the taste was missing. Again the staff was courteous but could do nothing about the taste. Upma was delicious and to our request they prepared a separate bowl for our toddler without spices/chillies.
Verdict: If you just want a decent place to stay, this is a good hotel, but if you are on a leisure trip, I'd suggest to look for a better hotel like Pride or Le Meridien. Also, keep in mind that toilet door is crazily built and only gives 1 foot...
