This was the 2nd time we visited this same property. We last came in 2022. And had a great experience so wanted to redo a known, safe space with my infant again in 2025.
But we had a very bad experience. Didnāt expect it to be so run down in just 3 years.
While the outside area was all very well maintained (pool and lawn etc), the inside and the housekeeping service was terrible.
1 living room AC was leaking a lotttt of water, practically created a little pond when switched on for 2-3 hours. And the 2nd one barely worked so the living room was very very warm and we couldn't sit there in the day. There were no pillow covers. We had gone only for 2 days and all throughout were using pillows without any covers. The staff said they have been sent for laundry but when you know you have a booking well in advance I wonder why this happened. ā The housekeeping didnāt offer to clean our rooms. When we asked them to clean them after lunch, only the bed was made and floor was sweeped. The bathroom remained as dirty with dead insects lying there. ā The ground floor bathroom had whitish water and therefore we werenāt able to shower or even brush our teeth there. My mother is a senior citizen with knee pain and had to climb up to use the upstairs bathroom. ā Living room small fridge is not working
ā¼ļøā¼ļøThe cherry on top was being served pav with mould/fungus for breakfast the morning we were leaving. I saw it and stopped my family from eating it. We were then told that this was the same Pav served to us the night before so god alone knows how much fungus we had already consumed. On telling the chef and their customer support team all we were told is āsorryā.
Saffron stays is a reputed brand and when we book villas that are so expensive this is the bare minimum we expect. Not the first booking I have made with them but definitely the worst experience at any villa...

However, this was my first SaffronStays experience and I was left very disappointed with their policies and upkeep:
We did not opt for dinner from them, but shockingly, they refused to provide even basic plates and cutlery for the food/snacks we brought ourselves-unless we paid an additional ā¹500. This is an impractical and unreasonable policy. The living room AC was not working, forcing us to sit through the night without cooling. The house was full of bugs (mosquitoes, cockroaches, flies, etc.), which was extremely uncomfortable-especially since we were traveling with an infant.
I raised these issues with customer service and was assured a call back, but even after 3 days, no one bothered to respond.
While the villa and staff were good, the poor maintenance, impractical policies, and lack of customer care ruined what could have been a great experience. Unless SaffronStays fixes these issues, I would not...
