We had two wonderful days at this resort. It is in an island, next to a small fishing village. There is absolute peace except for occasional fishing and passenger boats on the water channel in the front, which are few and far between. The campus is well maintained with plants, statues and even a waterbody. It is an ideal relaxing place with good ambience, decent room and excellent food (both vegetarian and seafood). We went for a couple of excursions by boat, and was rewarded with sights of dolphins and water birds.
Coming to the logistics, the only way to reach there is by free boat service arranged by the resort management, from the nearest mainland jetty of Satpada, about 1 hour of boat ride away. While the resort advertises "free parking", it is probably for your private boat if you bring one. 😂
The resort also talks about "free WiFi". Please be aware that the mobile network is extremely poor (especially in the evenings) at the resort, and there is no WiFi at all. If you like to keep your handset packed in your bag and enjoy the nature, this place is for you.
The local dishes prepared by the cook at the resort has been excellent. But, there was no mention of many of them on the menu card. As we were the only guests in the resort, the food was customised to our request. I suggest the resort management to include more local dishes in the menu -- I am sure, that will be appreciated by many of the guests.
True to the spirit of an eco-resort, the rooms are basic (with AC though). The single cottages are good for 2, but will be crammed for 3 people. The plumbing needs attention. Some of the cottages on the river-front (new construction is going on) are too close to each other and blocks...
Read moreThe first thing that hit me was the sound. The sounds of birds, the sound of the sea crawling onto the sand. I felt million grains of sand underneath my feet and the cool breeze against my face. After I watched the sunrise, my mood lifted. While sitting down, I observe the island and find that I was surrounded by water and some other islands. The water around the island was as clear as crystalI walk deeper into the island. Nowhere, the sound of the birds started to raise up. It brought freedom and happiness to the mind. Beautiful flowers in reds, yellows, purples, and pinks lounged happily along the banks of small streams. Following the streams, it allowed me to hear the playful sound of the water lapping on the rocks, and the sound of leaves rustling when the wind blew gently, bringing with it a feeling of peace and tranquility. Food and service was excellent I...
Read moreExcellent location however the rooms were pretty basic with uncleaned toilets. Most places in the property (outside room) is either in very bad conditions or underconstruction. If you are not taking package the food is damn costly and the amount served is not justified for the price. Food taste is also not great. Having a restaurant next to Chilika if the Crab masala is not giving any wow feel that's disappointing. The workers there are very good, friendly and helpful. We got cheated by the resort in booking the boat. They mentioned if we book via then it will be 1500rs cheaper. So we booked it. Later we found that direct booking of boat is not costly secondly the amount the resort took us for the boat has the commission amount which they take. They don't have online booking system. Overall its just an average place, only the...
