Nature Camp Konark Retreat — Hotel in Odisha

Stayed for a day at Nature Camp Konark Retreat during my trip to Odisha. Tucked away in the woods just outside the Puri-Konark marine drive, the place is at close proximity to the Sun temple at Konark. Just a few hundred feet from the property, the Kushabhadra river flows by before joining the sea at Ramchandi Beach.||||The stay is in fine Swiss tents, equipped with a nice porch, a cozy bed and a clean bathroom. Set amidst cashew, casuarina, acacia and many other trees, the place provides a comfortable place to relax. ||||I spent late evening hours working on my photographs at the common restaurant area, chatting with Ms Sanghamitra the owner, with her labrador for company, even as Chitto served me a hot dinner with a lot of care. The two cups of hot soup were just what I needed to beat the early January chill. The food was delectable.||||After the visit to the sun temple, I took a short boat ride to marvel at the estuary of Kushabhadra as the river meanders her way to join the sea. The last rays of the reddish sun reflected on the wet sand as the sea roared on one side and the river gently soothed my bare feet on the other.||||Early morning, I took a walk along the banks of Kushabhadra as the sun rose on the eastern horizon. The fisherfolks were out early, unmindful of the fog and the morning chill.  · It was one of the worst experiences i had traveling. The place was dirty, uncomfortable, very noisy (a kitchen of another restaurant is just behind the tent were you sleep). Nothing matches with the expectation. Totally overpriced for what they offer. We booked and we were asked to pay all the amount of our stay in advance in order to confirm the reservation. They let us believe the the place was nearly sold out because of the Konark festival, but we were the only guest for all the time (6 days). Now we know why we were asked to pay all in advance. Because when you arrive and see the place a second later you want escape away as far as possible. The place is far from everywhere and you need a private transport to go around. They say that food is simple but local and tipical, but the reality is different: you can't eat this food because you can't trust that the kitchen has the minimum requirements of cleanness for considering safe the food and the test is terrible. This review is an answer to my previous comment’s response by the owner. First of all, kindly look into your booking schedule of 16th June 2022, booking name- Disha. I and my family we dint even check in for the stay, as it was not close to what you people showed in MakeMyTrip and absolutely dint find it safe. Just for your proof, MMT team tried connecting you for a refund since we dint stay with you or used your property at all. Let me mark, your manager committed for a refund, and all you guys refunded was not even 10% of your overly-priced room in the name of ‘compensation’. Secondly, disabling the ‘reply’ option to your comments in order to show that the reviews are false is an absolute unprofessional move. Moreover, Customers are absolutely not free to check in google for properties and star them 1 out of fun.
