Castle Khandela — Hotel in Rajasthan

We always stop in Khandela on our way from Delhi to Jaipur and have been now a few times. We know the owner, a doctor with his own small hospital on the premises, of this ancestral fort quite well and are always welcome with open arms. The staff is extremely friendly too and most helpful. The rooms are well appointed opening onto a courtyard where you can relaxed while sipping tea and watching the great variety of birds. In the past you ate your meals on a covered terrace but now there is a super double staircase leading to a vast diningroom. The food is plentiful and delicious.||Khandela is a bustling town and it is always a joy to stroll up the "main" street and discover the little shops.. Situated in rusted town of Khandela this was a resident of Khandela rulers for about 500 years .It was renovated and restored by Dr Raisal Singh, a direct descendant of Khandela rulers . Bult in traditional Rajasthani style the castle has a small garden around which the whole hotel evolves . There are eighteen rooms , each in a different style having all basic necessities. The dining room provides the traditional and regional cuisine. The staff managed by Mr Surendra Singh is very helpful and courteous. They all go out of the to make you comfortable . Dr Raisal Singh also runs a free hospital adjacent to the hotel . But he manages to take time out in between in be there to attend to the guests personally and make them comfortable. To reach the hotel, you have to leave the main highway and travel through very bad condioned local roads.|Food choices are limited and expensive . For the breakfast you will have choice of only one or 2 things. No buffet system . For lunch also you will only have choice of tawa roti or rice .
