Fort Chanwa — Hotel in Rajasthan

Staying here is a totally different exeprience than in a typical hotel. Built as a haveli for a Maharajah, it had fallen into disrepair, but in 1992 it was converted into a heritage hotel, and it is still owned by a Maharajah, staying here is a step back into history.|The rooms are tastefully decorated, with modern facilities, but retaining the sense of a bygone time. Stairs to the upper floors are stone, and there are no handrails, so maybe not ideal for those with reduced mobility, There are no lifts. There is a railway station nearby, and all the trains approaching or leaving sound horns, which are loud, and affected the sleep of some of our party, so I would recommend earplugs.|There is an indoor restaurant, and an outdoor one, Food was good, a reasonable choice of tasty Indian dishes, and alcoholic drinks are available. The hotel is set in attractive grounds, with cane furnishing, and waiters will bring drinks to you. In the evenings there was local music. The hotel also has a pool, which some of us took advantage of.|The hotel is situated off the beaten track, even our driver had difficulty in finding it, there is a small village, and when we were preparing to leave we were surrounded by the local children, all hoping to be given some money, but all smiling and good humoured.|Jeeps can be arranged from here to take you into the countryside and visit a local farm and see the life of the locals. |I enjoyed my two night stay here, and would...

I went to Luni Fort on 4th aug 2019, as a conversation on call they told me 500/-₹ per person is cover charges. I went there and asked for swimming they told me 31 extra which is 531 per person. I had starters and red bull total bill was around 1380 something of food , i paid 380/-₹ extra and swimming charges were mentioned in that as 31 per person. Today i went after calling them they told me yes 500₹ is cover charge , i went for swimming , had starters , red bull & Ala-carte dinner, when i asked them for the bill , they added 1062/-₹ for swimming for 2 person and 933 for food , total was 1995/-₹ as i paid 1000/-₹ already cover charges how they can charge swimming charges separately ? They told me that swimming is separate 450/-₹ per person and GST is 18% so that total amount is 531. Where is the GST Invoice for swimming ? I told them to check old bill in there computer they told me it has gone for accounts like they dont have duplicate copy. I have been there for the 6th time and always swimming under cover charge. Fort Chanwa in Looney is like an oasis! One arrives in Looney which is a small city and in the midst of the hutments is this jewel! What is fabulous and endearing is the staff! All retained even beyond the Covid by the owner who is a part of the Jodhpur Royal Family- Veer Vikram Singh Rathore! We were treated like royalty and celebrities like Madonna and Paul McCartney have stayed here! The rooms have an old world charm and have courtyards and gardens. The pool is tucked away for privacy and the breakfast is lovely! People like Gabbar and Babu Lal serve the place well and one feels like never leaving! Everyone has a story to tell!
