Hotel Samiralok - Boutique Garden Retreat in Mount Abu — Hotel in Rajasthan

I'll share a detailed review for future travellers. Mine was a stay for 2 days in a Deluxe Garden View room.

Location - The hotel is situated right after the toll plaza at the left side corner turn which is just before the entrance to Mt. Abu. The location is decent and easily accessible. Most of the places like Nakki Lake, Sunset point are only at a 10-15 min drive. Guru shikar is at a 40 min drive and Dilwara temples, Achalgarh and Peace Park are enroute.

Hotel Ambience - The hotel has a good garden (general sitting + breakfast space also ), ample parking space, open space with swing to enjoy the sunlight.

Room - The property is not new which is reflected in the state of the rooms. It has a queen bed, chair, a coffee table, a stool, open wardrobe cabinet, mirror, TV, small sitting space near window, AC and fan. There is no electric kettle in the room. It was written at the reception area that they provide room heater on a chargeable basis.

Washroom - The biggest disappointment was the washroom. It is in very bad condition. Even after cleaning, one couldn't tell if it was cleaned. The washroom curtain was so dirty that it had black spots and marks and we asked the housekeeping to remove it from the washroom as it was unable to look at. The hot water is only available in the morning 8-10 and the rest of the time the water in the washroom is really really cold. There is no dental kit in the room. They provide 2 pairs of slippers. Drying your clothes can be an issue.

Network - Cellphone signals are a problem there and you may not get a good coverage. Wifi is available in rooms but it is also not very good. Keeps disconnecting after every few mins so if you plan to stay in the rooms then you may face issues in calls and internet. Also the TV subscription has basic channels of Star but Zee and Sony channels were not available.

Food - We had breakfast and lunch while sitting in the garden. The taste was nice. The proportion was also decent. The restaurant guy Praveen was courteous and professional.

This hotel is located just on the entrance of Mt. Abu. It comes right after the entry toll booth. The rooms are basic, decent & large enough. Location is also good. But rooms are not worth the tariff they charge. They charge Rs. 4500 per night. At this rate one can expect way better rooms. The door handle of the main door is at the verge of coming out. Similarly the water tap is swivelling. It needs maintenance. Rooms are good but definitely not worth the price. Such rooms can be availed at less than half of this price in Mt. Abu. Also the food quality was ok. Very oily food. Quality of oil was also ok. Taste was good though.

We had booked garden view room. There are 4 such rooms, 2 on the ground floor, 2 on the 1st floor. On arrival, they gave us the one on the ground floor (which barley has any garden view). So, I requested if they can give us the room on the 1st floor. The manager told that they are already occupied. Right after we checked-in, I saw a couple walking-in the hotel asking for room. They hadn't pre-booked. So, the manager showed him the garden view room on the 1st floor. Which means it was vacant. Manager probably telling lies. This is the case with majority hotels across India. Once you have pre-booked, you don't have an option. So, they will not give you...

The hotel staff and owner are cheats. Hotel mentions that room has AC (my booking had AC use included) but when i set the temperature to 27 degree celsius they charge 800/night in the name of heater charges though no separate heater is not provided.

There is no hot water after 10 am in bathroom

The hotel staff is not professional. Rooms is not cleaned neither anyone asks whether room needs to be cleaned.

Sound insulation is poor in room. One can hear sound of guests from other room.

Frankly speaking, the reviews in google and agoda mislead me. A hotel which does not have basic amenities is not worth staying. Charging ~4000 per night is waste of money. I will never stay here again for the lack of amenities...
