Harish was a remarkable tour guide who showed my wife and I an excellent day in Jaisalmer. Jaisalmer can get very crowded and Harish does a great job teaching you and showing you the best parts without feeling like you’re fighting a crowd of people. The day started off at 9:00-9:30am with a ride from our hotel to the Jaisalmer fort gate. From just inside the fort he’ll tell you some history as well as take some photos of you (he is an amazing photographer). From here you’ll make your way to each gate learning about the building timeframe as well as other information. You’ll stop at the top of the fort and learn some more about the palace museum, which you will not go into because it gets crowded fast. (You can do this museum with an audio guide by yourself early to avoid crowds.) You’ll make your way to the Jain Temples which are absolutely magnificent. While inside he’ll teach you about them as well as take some great photos, then allow you to walk by yourself. (The priests will ask you for money if you take pictures with the idol. I recommend having some 10/20 rupee notes on you for this if you do want a picture as they are pretty insistent about the money.) Afterwards you’ll go to a great photo point and take some good pictures with the Jain Temple in the background. You can stop for a chai or other drink if you wish. We opted to and very much enjoyed our chat with Harish. Afterwards you’ll walk through more of the fort streets to see the amazing buildings architecture. You can stop and take photos and Harish will answer any questions you may have. As you exit the fort you’ll stop at a cooperative textile shop where they will teach you about the recycling of old village cloths into new carpets/curtains/wall tapestries. You’re under no obligation to purchase anything. My wife and I bought an assortment of the pashminas for varying prices as they felt and looked really nice. You can negotiate for a better price than what is offered, but at most you’ll save 6-10 dollars (unless you’re buying extremely large quantities and/or paying cash). This stop can be as long as or as short as you wish. Afterwards, you’ll make your way towards the Haveli’s. With a stop on the way you can stop for an inexpensive treat (again optional). It was 30 rupees and perfect to split for two people. The first Haveli you’ll see is the Nathmal-ki-Haveli. It’s beautiful on the outside and you’ll have a chance to see the first floor where you’ll learn from one of the decedents of the prime minister and also have the option to purchase items for sale. They are some inexpensive tchotchkes or some more intricate items. No purchase is compulsory, but the nice man did as for a small donation for upkeep if you could spare it. We did like some of the items and purchase a small “opium box” and other item. From here you’ll see more of the amazing architecture around the back streets on your way to the Patwa-ki-Haveli. Since it is so crowded inside you’ll take some pictures and learn about the Haveli from the outside (if you want to avoid crowds I recommend going early at a separate time). After this you’ll eat lunch across from the Haveli with a great view of the back. I recommend getting the Veg Thali, it was very good. After this you’ll make your way to one of the silver merchants while looking at more beautiful houses. Along the way we were greeted many children of Jaislamer who were all incredibly friendly always saying hello/sometimes asking for pictures with us! ). Afterwards we walked through back streets toward the Fort Gate and back up to a sunset restaurant where we took in the sunset and enjoyed a delicious Lemon Ginger Honey Tea (highly recommend this). From here we called it a day to head back to the hotel. Harish was extremely patient and helpful with us all day. We enjoyed his company and all the knowledge that he shared with us. Thanks Harish!

Harish was the best tour guide I could have asked for. Not only was he accommodating with my travel plans (we faced several problems with flights and had to change our arrival date twice) but he eased our worries of losing time in Jaisalmer and provided a service that went beyond my expectations, especially with our reduced time in Jaisalmer! He was funny, knowledgeable, and very kind. He took us to places I never would have found on my own, and will never forget. Every moment was so well thought out and planned and he really wanted to help us have the best possible experience there. His love for his city is infectious, and it was so incredible to view the city with him and see it through his eyes. I would take one million tours from him, and already plan to come back again and use Harish in the future. I know I’ve made a friend with him!

Jaisalmer - The Golden City - We went to visit Jaisalmer early January 9-12 and It was a Fabulous trip. Credit goes to our friend and guide Mr. Harish Girl.

Harish is a very wonderful and kind person, which just reflects the way he gets involved in making your trips the best experience the city has to offer. You make friends with him instantaneously

We were there for 4 days and though we had a defined itinerary. He was flexible and suggested what can be done in the day based on the conditions on the same. He made sure we got the best of things and never got tired of taking our photos. Thanks a lot for that.

He arranged the transport and bookings for us in the best of the places. The people we met through him-I can remember Haleem bhai who drove us to places on the day of our night in the Desert - were really nice people,

The Fort tour was really good as he took us to various hidden points which were basically situated inside restaurants and hotels, one would completely miss out because their guide is just being professional, which In our case was opposite. He was there to help at any moment in the day

All other places we visited with him were equally wonderful. He knows the market well and the right places to buy things, which he took us to and we bought some couple of wonderful traditional attires and décor stuff.

All in all. It was completely a Safe, Relaxing and -Don't have words trip. Thanks to Harish bhai and Best Wishes for Future. You made the trip a wonderful one and something to cherish.

Will recommend him for the best experience one can get in Jaisalmer with lots of...
