Staying at Jawai Leopard Safari Lodge was nothing short of magical! From the moment we arrived, we were wrapped in warm hospitality and genuine smiles that stayed with us throughout our stay. It truly felt like a home away from home — only nestled in the wild beauty of Jawai!||The lodge itself is charming, but it’s the people who make it truly special. Every member of the staff was incredibly polite, humble, and always ready to help — all while wearing the kindest smiles. No request was too big or small; they made sure we were comfortable at every step.||And the food... oh my goodness, the food! Every meal was a treat, but if you're a non-veg lover, don’t miss their Mutton Curry — it tasted just like something made with love in a home kitchen. Absolutely unforgettable!||A huge shoutout to Mr. Vijith, the lodge manager, whose professionalism and deep knowledge about the region, wildlife, and birds added a whole new layer of richness to our experience. His calm and collected presence made us feel completely at ease.||We were also so lucky to be taken care of by the ever-helpful Mangal ji, Pradeep ji, and Karan, who made us feel like family. And how can I forget our amazing safari driver, Bhupendra bhaiya — what a gem! His energy, enthusiasm, and unique way of showing us the wild side of Jawai gave us memories we’ll cherish forever.||All in all, it was a WOW experience from start to finish! If you're planning a trip to Jawai, please don’t miss staying at Jawai Leopard Safari Lodge — it’s not just a stay, it’s a heartwarming adventure. Can’t wait to...
Read moreThe dam is situated near Sumerpur town in Pali District of Rajasthan state in India. The dam was built by Maharaja Umaid Singh of Jodhpur.
The idea of building a dam over River Jawai was conceived in 1903 as its flooding waters caused heavy damage in Pali and Jalore district during monsoon. It was finally given shape in 1946. The project was to construct a dam across the river, creation of water reservoir, which could be used for water irrigation and hydel power generation. The work started on 12 May 1946. By 1951, when first 5-year plan was launched, nearly 124 Lakh Rupees were already spent on this project. The hydel project was suspended, since sufficient pressure was not likely to be available throughout the year, after meeting the irrigation demand. Revised estimated cost was revised to Rupees 300 Lakhs. Project completed in 1957.
This dam covers an area of 13 km 2. This is the biggest man made dam in western Rajasthan. The dam has the capacity of 7887.5 million cubic feet and covers an area of 102,315 acres (414.05 km2) of cultivable command area. Its height is about 61.25 feet (18.67 m). Sei dam and Kalibor dam are the feeder dams of the Jawai dam. The catchment area of the dam site is 720 square kilometres and basin is in the shape of a fan.
It is the main water supply source for Pali district. If there is sufficient water in the dam, then some villages of Jalore district and Pali district get water for irrigation from the Jawai dam, which was the main aim in...
Read moreI would like to share a detailed review with the owner if they are looking over to the same .
Positive A very peaceful location with beautiful surrounding and a nice concept.
Just one positive thing
Negative This place has many big rats which comes into your tent and gonna disturb you like anything when you are sleeping at night which was the most disgusting experience you will have. There are lots of issues relating to electricity they have a generator which they only run if we request them to for 10 mins and then they put it off and we are without the electricity. This place has very limited option for food. And food is very okayish. Moreover they will not given you any complimentary drinking bottle going to charge you for that and if you order more tea during the breakfast(where breakfast is already included in package) they are gonna charge you more for the extra tea taken without your notice.
This place requires lots of improvement as said it is a new place and still establishing this is not how newly established places work with so much negative points. You people are charging us a lot like a lotttt!!!!!!! Compared to what you ate offering to us. And such poor services are not at all expected. Definitely there are other options and jawai is a place not much people are knowing and is into exploring mode where hotels like you should be giving and making extra efforts but my experience had been a lot...
