Staying at Mala Ki Dhani was an unforgettable experience, one that we will cherish for years to come. The location is in the middle of nowhere - a remote area 30km north of Jaisalmer. There are no amenities here - no electricity, no running water, and no mobile network. It was a blessing to be able to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and to appreciate the beauty of nature. ||The homestay is owned by a local family and consists of five traditional mud huts. The food served here was simple yet delicious, and was cooked by the hosts themselves. Every morning, the sun rose and thousands of birds were chirping happily. Wild camels roamed in the desert, and a small temple at the nearby hilltop served as the perfect spot for watching the sunset. At night, the entire sky was lit up with billions of stars, and it felt as though one could just reach out and touch them.||This homestay is not for everyone, nor is it for people who are looking for luxury. Those who do visit, however, will be rewarded with an authentic experience and the chance to appreciate life without the trappings of modern amenities. We were lucky to have been hosted by the kind and hospitable Om ji and his family, who made us feel welcome and safe.||All in all, a stay at Mala Ki Dhani is an experience that is not to be missed. If you’re looking for an escape from the everyday, a chance to reconnect with nature, and an opportunity to enjoy the raw, unadulterated beauty of the desert, then this is the place for you.||PS - Om ji will come to a pickup point to the city and will lead you to this place. There's no paved road but sedan can be driven easily to this point. For charging mobile you need to go to nearby village so better carry a powerbank. As the place is literally in the middle of nowhere, you might feel speculative while on the way but be assured that place is super safe. We visited in Mar 2021.||PPS - The pictures won't do justice to this place. The whole idea was to disconnect from mobiles/electronics so that's why we didn't click many pictures at first place. It's...
Read moreIf you're looking for an experience of a lifetime this is the place to be in. I stayed in Mala ki Dhani for 10 days and I can tell you those 10 days were one of the best 10 days of my life. Om bhaiya is an amazing host. The best in the game really. I was treated like a family member. The food is simple and delicious. I've had non-veg one night as well and that was very tasty. Lalit is a very smart hardworking boy who makes sure your stay is the most comfortable. There is NO electricity in the property. You can charge your phone in a nearby village which is approx. 1km away. Carry a Powerbank it's a must. You can sleep outside on a futon bed near the fire or seep in a mud house. I've slept inside a hut as well as outside and I'll recommend sleeping outside under the stars. On clear nights the milkyway is visible to the naked eye. You can check out the temple on a hill with a view, see how people live in the village which is 1km from the property, play cricket with the village kids, check out the farming lands, spent time with om bhaiyas kids as they take their cattle to graze, help lalit out fill water in the tanks and live an authentic village life. There isn't great internet coverage there hence you can live a life cut off from the world. I can go on about this place but I'll suggest spend at least 3 days and 2 nights here to live the experience yourself. Om bhaiya is the...
