This was the 1st hotel on our trip (Ideally it should have been the last, my bad.). I had read articles about it and seen photos of it, so when it came time to make bookings for our trip to Jodhpur, this was a place I wanted to stay at (Also Umaid Bhawan was too expensive for me). We almost missed our flight but when we eventually did get there, we were blown away. The Hotel/Fort is simple yet elegant and simply mind blowing when you first see it. The fact that it has been purpose built only 15 years ago is even more amazing. We fell in love with the hotel, the vibe, the Decor especially which the lady of the house has carefully manicured. Like i said, i had seen photos and read reviews but the actual experience was beyond what I had expected. The room was HUGE! with a private lap pool and a separate 1st floor private terrace. There were a few rooms which were booked but we felt like we were the only ones there, it was that quiet and peaceful. The food is amazing and the hospitality, even better. The only way you can be disappointed here is by going there with the expectation that this is like any other 4/5 star hotel with lots of activities and amenities. Its a place for people who want and enjoy solitude and great conversations. My family did not want to leave and my kids kept running inside to hide or to stay bye to the rooms and the hotel, that’s how much they loved it. The manager, Mr. Bhupendra also guided us with regards to places to shop or check out at jodhpur which was helpful as most guides/drivers have connections and commissions with shops. The dining staff especially went out of the way to make things that weren’t on the menu to accommodate us and our kids. Overall, Simply an amazing 2 days.

Everything about this property was just amazing. It is one of those properties that you know you would just love to come back to again. Every member of staff were so friendly, attentive and non intrusive including the owners who would pop in to say hello. The food was outstanding (amazing chefs) and everything on the menu that we tried was just incredible. We opted for the breakfast, lunch and dinner rate which was so worth it in every way. Musicians would play quietly in the background while we ate. Mihir Garh has a very peaceful vibe to it with lots of places to sit and chill. We had a ground floor suite with our own plunge pool (room A3) Full sun all day. We would sit and watch the wildlife pass by. The sunset terrace was great at the end of the day to watch the sunset. We experienced their dinner in the desert (highly recommend it) with live music and dancers and all food cooked fresh with one of their chefs. It was hard to leave to this place. We have been lucky enough to visit India many times and have stayed in some truly wonderful places but there is just something about Mihir Garh that took our hearts. We will be back next year. Thank you so much to all at Mihir Garh

The best things about the hotel are the incredibly attentive staff (like most Indian luxury establishments, the hotel is over staffed) and the beautiful building and setting. The rooms are the size of 1.5-2 small New York City apartments. The accompanying photos give a sense of the grandeur of the place. The downside is that you're in rural Rajasthan. This has two distinct implications - you're in the middle of nowhere a solid hour from Jodhpur down a series of bumpy roads; the last several km is on a dirt road. It takes absolutely forever and is expensive to get anywhere you want to go. The hotel tries to make up for the constant power cuts with generators, but these apparently do not give enough juice to ensure hot water or reliable internet. In three days there I never once had hot water (morning, evening or afternoon) and the internet was intermittent at it's very best (and, when it was operational, too slow to load critical websites). The internet is shockingly slow across India, including at expensive luxury accommodations of all types and locations, but Mihir Garh takes the cake for the worst internet I have yet experienced at a 5 star+ place.

To brief you –

We had made the booking for two rooms and there were 5 adults and 3 kids in total. There was no discussion during check in about anything. In evening around 6.30pm, one of the manager at hotel approached us and advised that there is an extra person along with you and that would be chargeable, which we immediately agreed to, as the booking was made on double occupancy. Then we clarified with them that the kids are all below 10 years of age and we do not need any extra beds except for one adult. He never mentioned any charges until this time. In the morning during checkout he added 4000Rs. Per child x 3 children = total 12000rs in the invoice, we requested them to kindly waive the charges as we had not taken any extra beds for any children but he completely ignored to and said that the kids are all above 5 years of age and we have a policy of charging 4000rs per child above 5 years. We told this guy that Firstly you should have informed us about any such charges when we checked in. Secondly, if there were extra charges for kids then you should have atleast provided with extra beds in room which you didn’t. Thirdly, the other couple along with us had stayed in past at the same property, made similar booking and brought their same kids and you haven’t charged for these kids in previous stay ! Fourthly, we are agreeing to pay for the extra adult along and that should be it !

It was not about paying extra having This would have been communicated during check in and agreed between us. They should have atleast provided extra beds in night if they were to charge. And they should have behaved politely and professionally.

Inspite of our several requests made, they did not agree to waive charges ! To our surprise, the manager Suryaveer tells me that thank us that we are not charging you for late check out – We were checking out at 11.47am and as per him the check out time is 11am.

We even called Owners but to our surprise they were equally not accommodating to their guests even when there are so few rooms. The owners Son did not even respond to any of our calls, messages or whatsapp. How sad for a property owner ! and what more can you expect from a property which is owned by such people.

This was completely expected, rude, unprofessional and unethical cheating by the property to charge the guests extra for service not provided or mentioned. They cheated us as all kids and ladies were waiting in the car during check out and they knew that we would pay these charges at last minute .. They were shameless of their act and we paid them for extra charges and left with unhappy and shocking...

What to say about this property other than it is absolutely gorgeous! Mihir Garh will forever be in our hearts as it is also the location of my engagement with my fiancé! That aside, let me start by saying that the property itself is beautiful, clean, cosy and well maintained. We stayed in one of the rooms with the plunge pool and were pleasantly surprised by how spacious and well decorated it was! You truly feel like a maharaja when you walk into one of these rooms! The service is impeccable, you are looked after with a level of detail and precision that only royalty could hope for! The food is excellent offering a healthy variety of delicious cuisines (their local dishes are a must)! They have the most beautiful stables with even more beautiful Marwari horses. My fiancé loves to ride and she spent both mornings of our stay galloping into the wilderness with one of their professional guides! Overall the feeling you get when you arrive at this property is that of home! Even the owners do their best to send someone from the family to welcome you personally during your stay which makes it that much more welcoming! What else can I say about this property? I could stay here for hours writing about how dreamy this property and location is and still would probably not do it the justice it deserves! Therefore all I will say is, if you are thinking of visiting this hotel, stop thinking and just book it! You will not regret it! I personally...
