We had made reservations at Pandora Grand for my brother's wedding festivities scheduled on the 22nd and 23rd of April. Despite booking 75% of the hotel's accommodations and banquet halls, our experience fell far short of expectations. Upon reading concerning reviews, we reached out to Umani Ranna, the manager overseeing Pandora Grand Udaipur. She arranged for us to speak with the managing director, who assured us that the issues raised by previous guests would be addressed.
However, upon arrival, it became evident that the property did not match the grandeur depicted on their website and other booking platforms. The condition of the rooms was subpar, with worn-out furniture and non-functional bathroom amenities, including faulty exhaust systems and persistent leaks. The cleanliness standards were lacking, with instances of reused bedsheets and pervasive odors due to drainage issues.
Furthermore, the inadequacy of the staff-to-room ratio, with only 10 individuals catering to 100 rooms, led to significant delays in service. Additionally, the malfunctioning air conditioning in the banquet halls and the limited and poorly coordinated elevator service added to the inconvenience.
Overall, our stay at Pandora Grand was highly disappointing, and we cannot in good conscience recommend it to others. It is our sincere hope that the management addresses these issues promptly to uphold the standards expected of a reputable hospitality...
Read moreWORST HOTEL EVER. Zero hygiene, no water, no hot water depsite multiple escalations, nobody accountable, stop picking up phones when called to report room problems, shameless enough to offer a bucket of water and ask guests to adjust to whatever is wrong with their systems. Dont be mistaken by the word luxury in the hotel name, it is simply misleading, and you will be fooled. The water problem persisted on the second day as well with no resolution until checkout, for which they were prompt enough to remind muitple times, same guys who stopped picking up the calls. I was shocked when we checked out, we asked for two watter bottles for the road when they said you have checked out and water bottles are now chargeable, with Rs 32 per bottle. We did not have an option at the time but to buy those 2 bottles and paid 63 Rs through Paytm. Not that this amount matters, but the attitude is shameful. There were hundreds of guests roaming around the premises who came from Gujarat to enjoy the long weekend. I heard almost all of them cursing hotel authorities for no water, no hot water, no buckets, no breakfast management, waiting more than 45 mins just for a tea or bread butter. Miismanagement at its peak. All hotel windows (rooms, lobbies staircase area) are openable thru sliding doors, at the sitting height. Basically accident waiting to happen anytime. Everything extremely frustrating. Zero accountability...
Read moreThe front desk person is attentive and calm. We reached early and they had allocated rooms, that were agreed and nice.
The remaining is as below.
Rooms: Rooms were so so, at first entry it looked amiable. But, the smell in the lobby felt like wet fungus. The toilet is attached to the ground but was leaking from the attachment. If you observe closely then the furniture's fine finish was not there in the room.
Swimming pool: The access is allowed at 7.30 am, but it was not ready to dive in. The recirculation of water was started(at 8.10 am) after giving so many reminders by walking to the front desk as there was no intercom placed. There was no attendant present. We again had to request to open the change room. Hot water was not available in the change room. The towels were not available, so we had to request them and they were dirty and felt used. The access to pool is odd.
Lifts: They were not working after 4 pm. It was working next day.
Breakfast: It is accessible from 7.30 to 10.30 am. But when I visited at 7.30, many items were not ready and placed. The food was not tasty and a number of items were also less. Our group was late for breakfast but was within time limit but they started to wind up at 10.20 am which was rude. Many of the items were being removed while some of our group members were talking items in their plates. That feeling was...
