: I would request the Guests and Tourists read the article and make the decision before opting for this camp as in my view the resort as its very much unsafe precisely for outsiders and the entire staff and manager will have one version to your valuables which are stolen.
Details:
I am writing to formally report a theft incident that occurred at the Prince Desert Camp in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, on the 22nd of December 2023. My family and I, residents of Hyderabad, had checked in as tourists on the mid-night of 21st December 2023. Regrettably, during our stay, a valuable gold mangalsutra (chain) weighing over 30 grams was unlawfully removed from our accommodation.
The sequence of events leading to the theft is as follows: On the evening of 22nd December 2023, before retir-ing for the night, my wife placed her brassiere and mangalsutra under the pillow for safekeeping. Subsequent-ly, upon our departure and checked-out on the morning of 23rd December 2023 for Jodhpur, we had a halt after traveling 5KMs for tea and then my wife realized that the mangalsutra had gone missing. The driver has called the management and upon alerting the staff at Prince Desert Camp, a search was con-ducted in our room, number 26, by the camp's helpers, resulting in the recovery of only the brassiere. Please note that, the search was conducted before our arrival to the camp. Despite our earnest requests for assistance, we have not received adequate cooperation from the camp's management in resolving this matter. Upon reporting the incident to the local Thana, the response from the police was limited, with their presence at the camp limited only to 5mins due to an urgent matter that required their attention in the event of President arrival to Jaisalmer.
We have to leave the camp with out any support as the camp have one version that we ourselves missed the chain in the camel ride. Its very much evident that in 15mins someone have checked in to the tent and stolen the chain. One of the housekeeper told that its evident its one among the three...
Read moreNestled within the Sam (pronounced as Sum) Dunes, Prince Desert Camp offers a secluded desert experience. It is about 45 kms from Jaisalmer city.
My accommodation was a luxurious air-conditioned tent, boasting ample space and a contemporary bathroom equipped with a compact geyser for hot water. The tent also featured a sheltered sitting area, complete with a cot and two chairs. The tent provided a comfortable stay. Cleanliness could be improved at few places.
The service at the camp was exceptional, characterized by the ever-smiling staff who delivered courteous service. Evening refreshments included coffee or tea before venturing out for our adventure activities at the dunes. Snacks were provided with tea or coffee during the traditional music and dance performance, which was followed by a delectable dinner. The breakfast spread was equally satisfying, featuring pooris, parathas, scrambled eggs and bread with butter and jam, along with coffee or tea. All meals mentioned above were conveniently included in the package.
The cultural performance was impressive, although the subsequent DJ session did not appeal to my tastes. The package also covered a camel ride and a Jeep safari across the dunes. The Jeep safari was an exhilarating experience, while the camel ride was less comfortable, prompting an early conclusion. Additionally, I partook in an ATV ride (which incurred an extra charge) and found it to be thrilling. Parasailing and paramotoring were available but at a hefty cost.
I harboured concerns regarding the safety protocols for the adventure activities, as there was no visible emphasis on safety measures. It seemed that these activities were managed by a tightly-knit group, potentially leading to inflated prices for tourists. There is a need for the tourism department to intervene, ensuring that these activities are safer and better regulated.
In summary, Prince Desert Camp excels in various aspects and justifiably earns its...

This is the place where whenever I visit, every single time I start loving it more and more. This was our second day in Sam dunes, Jaisalmer, we got invitation from Prince desert camp for a day stay. We reached there in the evening at around 4 pm. As we were approaching the place, smile automatically flashed on our faces. The entry is very colorful and bright that you will feel alive there. The ambience was very soothing and peaceful. This place is secluded and slightly away from the crowded dunes. The camp is situated in sam and surrounded by only desert, which makes this place more beautiful. They have many camps and all camps are same and spreads over in a big area. In the middle of the camps, they have arranged sitting area for all guests to enjoy there cultural programme and bonfire. I always love exploring the place, and the landscape of this place has been done so amazingly that I absolutely enjoyed strolling around the property. I must say that owner of the property Mr. Jethu Singh is one of the helpful &...
