First impression: This property is a mix of a resort and a hotel. Built like typical Rajasthani palaces. Lot of open-spaces, pools, some pool-side sitting ares like a resort. I guess all rooms have a balcony. As of now almost all sides open, so most balconies have an un-interrupted view. But a three-story building and corridors like a business hotel. Being a new Hotel, has less greenery (smaller trees) although lawns/garden is well-maintained. The photographs online are mostly edited images. The images are real, but the color/contrast etc. give a different impression, which is slightly different than the actual view.
Checkin: Checkin was smooth and fast (pre-booked) with welcome-drinks We were a group of 5 people + 1 infant in two rooms. One room was given a complimentary upgrade.
Rooms: The rooms are nicely done. Top-notch furniture and upholstery gives a feeling of top-line hotels. Bathroom is clean with hot/cold water and good lighting. Also has a glass-partition (with optional curtain) like so many hotels these days.
Nicely done-up room, with TV, tea-maker, study-table, bedside-table and multiple power-outlets for chargers. Rooms on the left get morning sun and on the right, get evening-sun.
There is also a billiards-table and carom etc. in a common-area.
Restaurant: Breakfast (buffet) spread changed across 2 days we were there. On day-1 there were only veg items. On day-2, Egg and chicken items were there (which I will expect from a hotel of this stature). Otherwise a good and standard spread (like other hotels of similar size), south-indian, poha, paranthas, poori, fruits, salads, juice, toast, omlettes and 5-6 other items. Good taste.
Lunch/Dinner had like multiple items (but would expect more variety). Service was slightly slow, but Food was excellent 10/10. Almost all items were consistently good which not many restaurants achieve. (Nearest outdoor food is approx half-km away on the highway, where few dhabas start)
Outdoor: Lawns/garden well-maintained. Good pool-side area. The pool-side also gets abundant sun, so just sit in winters and enjoy it. They also have kits for badminton, bat-ball, football etc. Lots of parking-area.
Improvement area: Room-service can be improved. Although my stay coincided with a huge student group, so could be one-off issue. Sometimes a small (could be from outside) bothers some rooms on third-floor. The swimming-pool changing-room has no hooks, no-rod, not sure why nobody noticed it. Where do you keep your dry clothes!!
Location: On the main Agra-Jaipur Highway. Approx 2-3 kms (5 min drive) from the Keoladeo National park (the main attraction of this town). But not walking distance (as its a highway). Approx 5 kms (15 min drive) from the Lohagarh fort (highly recommended).
Overall: Overall an excellent stay. Spacious property. Good Restaurant. For very-big groups, very few hotels of this size are there in Bharatpur. Recommend for couples, friends,...
Read moreRooms: Rooms are of decent size with a nice balcony, no views in particular, but in not so good condition.. Kettle was very dirty, soap dispensers were defective, basic amenities were not present. There were a few bugs though, in the room. I found one in my bed, seemed like it's been lying dead there for a long time (photo attached).
Service: Oh God! Pathetic! We had 3 senior citizen couples with us and it was really difficult for them wrt service. When called for water, they'd come hours late and say that we were not informed. when we ordered food, they didn't understand at once that how many plates, bowls, spoons we needed. We were 10 people, how hard is it to calculate? we ordered 3 fresh lime soda. It was bought one by one, and each time we had to remind that we ordered 3. we asked for ice and they brought it after 45 mins. when asked to clean the room, they said will do it but didn't do, even after saying like 2-3 times.
And one thing I want to highlight specifically.. as I mentioned, we were 10 people, we had 5 rooms. So it's obvious we were going from one room to another a lot. On the day we were checking out, we were transferring some luggage from room to another. When I left my room and came back within like 5 mins, there was a staff member inside the room who ENTERED WITHOUT PERMISSION, went through the stuff in the room apparently, and when I asked him what's he doing inside, he said "I thought you have checked out." Really you think!!! This was highly unprofessional on their part, why and with what intention he might have entered? And most importantly with whose permission? Just because he "thought" we checked out, he had no right to enter and inspect the room.
Food: In room food was decent but the pulao we ordered was uncooked. The breakfast buffet was not so good.
Amenities: There was a "fancy" game room with snooker table, carrom & Table Tennis. BUT, the cue sticks were damaged, there was no smoothness in carrom board and the table was a little tilted also. Above all, there was NO AC, NO FAN & NO VENTILATION in the area. I mean imagine a game room, with literally no air. Pool area seemed decent. You can spot a few monkeys around the property, but apparently they're harmless.
Location: The hotel location is right in the highway which is very nice.. it's near to the bird sanctuary and even fatehpur sikri is a straight road for 21 kms.
Overall, there seemed a lack of coordination and communication among the staff in pretty much everything.
And with all these things, it was definitely overpriced. The only good thing about this resort was...
Read moreThe hotel, Regenta Resort is part of the Orchid Hotel group and it ensures a minimum level of hospitality. The hotel is located on the Agra Jaipur road, about 6.5 km from Gate No.1 Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary. The hotel building is imposing and looks neat. There is enough space for parking and the front lawn is quite large. Once you enter the building, the grandure of the reception hall is awe inspiring. Our check in was processed without any hassle and we reached our room with our luggage. The rooms are larger and spacious with a private balcony. The attached toilets are also clean and have running hot & cold water. The food and beverages spread are decent at its inhouse restaurant, Pinxx. The hotel has a play area, with a snooker table, table tennis and carrom boards. It also provides complimentary access to its Gym and the swimming pool. The property is advertised as a 4 star one. The building, rooms and the facilities offered justify the rating but the services offered are of 2 star rating. We were not provided a welcome drink during checkin. After we complained, some soft drinks were served in our rooms. We were allotted rooms on the third floor. One of the rooms had an unbearable damp stench. The staff was reluctant to change the room and only after some arguments did they agree to change the room. The alternative room was on the second floor. The furniture was not properly dusted and the upholstery was damaged in some places. Room slippers were provided in one room and not in another room. Tea and coffee kits were provided but the holders & stirrers were dirty & stained. Cookies, which are usually available in all four star properties, were absent. The towel rack was missing in one of the toilets which was installed after complaint with the front office manager. The stained towels were also replaced. The complimentary wifi speed was not adequate and only one device could be connected in a room. The complimentary breakfast timing is from 7:30 am to 10:30 am. Most of the tourists visiting the bird sanctuary leave at around 6:30 am and return by 11 am. Thus most often they are unable to take the complimentary breakfast. Hence it is suggested to book rooms without breakfast. On our request, the hotel did provide us boiled eggs & some fresh fruits at around 11:30 am in lieu of the complimentary breakfast and allowed us to check out late after 1 pm. All in all, the experience we had could have been better but it may happen in a small town like Bharatpur. Bharatpur has a dearth of good hotels and it is advisable to research and book a good...
